All the non contenders will never give up future assets, especially this draft for a player who will just walk on them in 2 years. As for simply refusing, that would be the most likely scenario, but it really depends how Love acts. It isn't like Asik, he can be more like Melo, a gigantic malcontent and he's still going to be flooded with max contract offers from contenders. Would he do that? well on the back of just losing a few games, probably not, but if they look like no shot at the playoffs approaching the deadline....
Lets stop with the fantasy trade ideas for Love. We just don't have the pieces to even be in the conversation. A team like the LA Clippers can offer Blake Griffin for Love straight up.
Yeah, as a Rockets fan we have to hope the Wolves have a crappy season and Love begins to show signs of wanted to "look around" when he can 'opt out' after next season. Flat out, Love is the perfect fit on the Rockets and they should do anything they can to get him. If that means Asik+Jones+something, then so be it. I love what Terence Jones has brought to the Rockets this year and would hate to see him go, but you have to give to get in this league and LOVE is a game changing talent to add.
As much as everyone wants to completely rule out the idea of Love on this team, what you need to remember is that he would not be our #1 option. Simply another rebounder AND someone else who can stretch the floor when we need it done. Spot up 3 point shooter?? Yes please!! Although, all that being said with the way Jones is developing, is there really even a need?

Wait a minute.... Adelman has had a huge say in building that team, he has a top 10 player and they spent lots of money... and they are mediocre? Come on, do you really think a "Hall of Fame" coach would allow that team to be mediocre? I mean we all know that RA didn't go to Minnesota simply for the money. The only way we get Love is if Jones takes another step forward and we were willing to give up Parsons. At the minimum, the package would have to be whatever we can get for Asik, an improved Jones, and Parsons. I don't see it happening. The Clips would give up Griffin in a heartbeat for Love.

You're going to have to include parsons in on the trade if you want love. Say we trade t jones and asik 2x 1sts for love. How are we going to resign parsons when he just signed dan fiegan as his agent? Dudes gonna demand NASA!
Les would have to step up big time with the $ to accommodate Love. For the 2015-2016 season ~$56M for Howard, Love and Harden, ~9.6M in cap holds, and that is before beginning to stock the roster with enough talent to make a run. I just don't see Les flirting with paying the luxury tax.
