If true, this would make the 2nd time they passed on a star player due to reluctance to trade Thompson. 1st time of course being when OKC offered Harden.
Per Coon"s salary cap faq: The max annual cash limit for the 2014-2015 season is $3.3 million. That's for the entire year, not just a trade.
The max cash were allowed to send out in a calendar year is 3 million. So they double trade you suggested wouldn't fly. We could trade asik to team A and get a decent return, something like our pick and asik for atlantas #15 this year. We could than trade lin, 3mill and maybe 2 2nd rd draft picks to team B for a future lotto protected 1st or some kind of asset like a large UN-guaranteed contract, large expiring or young player with upside. Package those returns with our future picks, Parsons and Jones and we have a very attractive offer and likely the best package offered. Especially if gsw won't offer klay.

Love watched the first round against Portland and saw how bad the Rockets were with McHale and said hed rather go to a scrub team and wait than suffer through Dwightmare and IsoHarden.
Lin Fan incredulously watched his favorite player regress to the mean and said he'd rather spend his offseason trolling a Rockets fan forum than admit to himself that he was an Idolater. It's going to be hard following Lin for the rest of his career. I feel for you.

How Love feels about staying with each team right now is only a tangential question. He won't decide until summer 2015 anyway so how he feels right now is only a starting point and there are many things that can change his mind, one way or another. He can have all the respect for the Celtics front office and history right now, but if the Celtics with Love have only a 35 or 40 win season and he butts heads with Rondo, I don't think the trophies won by Russell, Bird, McHale, KG, Pierce, etc. are gonna make Love decide to not at least look around seriously in 2015. This is kind of what happened with Dwight Howard in LA. A team has to make its own evaluation of the chances that they will have a good enough season with Love for the purpose of keeping him and of the team's own tolerance for risk. I'd make the gamble if I were the Lakers or Celtics or Rockets or even the Kings, but some front offices may be more risk averse. I just figure that if I, as a front office exec, can't build a good enough team with Kevin Love as a center piece and show him enough hope a year from now, maybe I am in the wrong business.
I thk Rox wld b better just making no trades n keeping the same players. The current lineup can go beyond playoffs 1st round next season IMO. They should learn from Spurs n keep the main core together for as long as possible.
YEAH, ANSWER THAT Mr. LOVE! <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>If Kevin Love is tired of losing and wants to play for a contender why are the Knicks on his so-called wish list and not the Spurs?</p>— Frank Isola (@FisolaNYDN) <a href="https://twitter.com/FisolaNYDN/statuses/469312728981438464">May 22, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
You guys have an unrealistic view of what you think chandler parsons can actual fetch. parsons would not be the centerpiece of any deal containing kevin love. parsons, jones and asik lin and 2 first rounders and that's only if they can find a partner winning to give something of value for asik or pec.

I think the Rockets best shot at trading for Love or any other superstar is first netting a lightly protected pick for Asik. If they can do that, similar to the Lowry-Toronto trade, that gives them a lot more flexibility and would be much more attractive than our own assets/picks.
Kings don't have enough to offer. Not unless they part with Thomas or Cousins. McClemore/McCallum/+1st round pick doesn't touch any of the other offers out there.
