Hidalgo is about an hour and a half. Their football program has made some big strides this year. Good luck to him with that.
I quit teaching a couple of years ago. 8 YEARS OF HELL. Family members and friends were jealous of my summers off, but it was definitely NOT worth it. If you have a calling to teach, fine. I didn't and I hated it. Can you say "babysitter?" (and this was high school level)
Not that anyone cares, but we also got in contact with the best friend of that coach in the valley. Turns out he's really good friends with Dennis Lindsay.
Amen to that - I am the only one in my family who doesn't teach (both my parents are retired and my sister teaches HS French) and I don't regret that decision at all.
Well, I'm the only one in my family teaching, and I don't regret that decision one bit either. The long hours that my brothers and sisters have to put in all year to make the almighty buck is not worth it. Like Pizza man said, some people have a calling, and right about now, two and a half months of vacation are calling my name!!!
Falcon's I have been off for 3 months, and plan to take the summer off too.... And, I am looking for an old Mustang to reinvigorate. DD
DD, you missed a great opportunity on a fixxer upper. A member of my club bought this for $500. I believe this was 6 months ago. This is where he's gotten it as of this weekend when I helped him with the front bumper and engine. I swear, it is the same before and after car. She's beautiful. If that doesn't give you the bug, I don;t know what will.
BTW DD, I think you have the all time super uber coolest job on these forums. The only job I might want more than yours (aside from obvious guy pleasure jobs) is running a Mustang resto shop.
I leave in about 15 minutes. I enjoyed my 2 hour lunch and I've been doing absolutely nothing for the last 2 hours!
