Could you beat the Heat or Pacers with an all star team with players from the other 13 teams?

    Alright. I'm going big.

PG: Lowry, Kyrie (Wow, there just aren't any great PGs out east. Kyrie & Wall aren't great yet.)
    SG: Afflao, Butler
    SF: Melo, Deng
    PF: Horford, Gibson
    C: Noah, Drummond

If Melo shared the ball and played defense, i think they could take the Heat or pacers. It'd be tight though.

Darn, I've got 4 Bulls on there. They really coulda been a championship team if not for Rose's injury.

That was my strategy and I bet they'd win. Now they have to be fan voted all stars? Sigh. I will go by players on the ballot most likely to get voted in:

    Irving/Williams/Wall
    Wade/Afflalo
    Lebron/George/Deng
    Bosh/Anthony
    Hibbert/Noah/Lopez

I guess the team would be:

    Irving/Williams
    Afflalo/Wall
    Anthony/Deng
    Lopez/Anthony
    Noah/Lopez

    Pacers yes. Heat, hmm...yes.

You can't because of the chemistry issues. Can't just throw a team together and expect all of them to play well together.

I would start Horford and Drummond together, Drummond's rebounding is crucial to beating the Heat and Horford will provide the needed post scoring

    it can be done imo

    i think so:

    noah-drummond
    horford-smith
    deng-melo
    aflalo-korver
    wall-irving

coached by thibs. that's the key. that starting lineup will be VERY difficult for the heat or pacers to score against, especially if thibs is coaching. but at the same time they can break down the heat's defense by posting horford and attacking from the point with wall.

against the pacers you can go small with horford, melo, afflalo, irving, wall. spreading out their defense and attacking from every position.

obviously it can be done, but i think the big point here is that its crazy to think it would actually take an eastern all star team to do it. now, does that say how great the heat/pacers are? or how weak the east is? or both?

The heat had their chemistry issues but they had someone like Lebron leading them. Who out of all these made up lineups is going to lead the teams everyone is creating? Teams look strong on paper a lot of the times but don't live up to the hype mostly because of chemistry.

It says how terrible the east is. You could almost make a better team out of current west lottery teams.

barkley is a moron, this is a joke bc the bench alone would ruin either heat or pacer bench considering wall, deng, lopez, monroe are all better than anything any of those teams have on the bench

    heat bench

    norris cole
    ray allen
    shane battier
    rashard lewis
    chris anderson

    vs

    John Wall
    Jimmy Butler
    Luol Deng
    Greg Monroe
    Brook Lopez

    Assuming starting lineup of

    kyrie irving
    aron afflalo
    carmelo anthony
    al horford
    Andre Drummond

Heck just combine the Roseless Bulls with the Hawks.

    Noah/Horford
    Milsap/Gibson
    Deng
    Butler/Korver
    Teague/Hinrich

And there you go. A nine man rotation that would beat both IND and MIA most games.

wow lol are you ever a rockets homer.....i assume you also wouldn't package parsons, lin, and asik for lebron?

John Wall is on a whole other level from Kyle Lowry, thats why the raptors are trying dump lowry ASAP while John Wall is basically untouchable and playing at a very high level....o and he was the #1 overall pick with lightning quick cat like reflexes along with prototypical point guard size

    A team with:
    Wall
    Irving
    Deng
    Afflao
    Drummond
    Millsap
    Melo
    Horfod
    Turner
    Deng
    Noah
    Korver

    Could do it.

    Defensive lineup:
    Drummond-Noah-Deng-Afflao-Wall

    Run n gun:
    Millsap-Melo-Korver-Irving-Wall

    Starters:
    Drummond-Melo-Deng-Affalo-Irving

    Bench:
    Noah-Horford-Korver-Turner-Wall

The combinations are endless for any matchup. His point remains though, there is a severe lack of talent out East.

A completely healthy Bulls team would beat the Heat, imo...

    I don't get it?

How could Harden and Howard play if it was against the top 4 teams? Or do you not understand that Houston has the 4th best record because of the confusing way they list division leaders in the standings?

Assuming chemistry, i.e. hypothetically those players played together for 82 games and know each other, then yes. The advantage is playing a high paced game and putting heavy pressure by constantly running and attacking. There's always an advantage in numbers to simply tire out the other team to make up for top end talent.

The more important thing is, you can put together a better team with western conference LOTTERY teams. As of this moment, you can get

    Curry/Conley/Holiday
    Kobe/Klay Thompson/Kevin Martin
Iggy/Barnes(this position sucks for WC lotteryers)
    Kevin Love/Anthony Davis
    Gasol/Pekovic

    Lol nope.

    See 2011 conference finals.

Not enough perimeter/low post scoring to beat the Heat.

    Wade
    George
    LeBron
    Bosh
    Hibbert

Bench: West, Hill, Stephenson, Birdman, Battier, Cole, Chalmers

Lol at anybody thinking this team can be beaten.
