Ukk .. ehhh Steve Blake why do we think the world of other teams player now that is simply a really disgusting choice .. why would choose the player who cost the blazers the 1st round and got raped litterly by AB .. the blazers felt that they signed andre miller over lamar odom .. id rather sign Will Conroy .. for godsake people have some faith in ur players if u are true fans .. AB baby
I agree with you except that I'm not going to add to the Wafer bashing..Im still with DD on wanting him back at the right price. But I would much rather have Outlaw than Rudy any day of the week. I thought Outlaw is ready for a real breakout and he is still young at only 25 even though he has been in the league 6 years. I doubt Portland would give us Outlaw and Przy for Battier and Hayes, because I think Morey would be all over it and it would be done already..imho. I haven't even checked the numbers to see if those work or not....anyone else?
Great! Didn't Pritchard get a Point no one was particularly pursuing after a really fine year just to ensure Blake didn't play starter minutes? So, yeah, let's trade for his 5 milyun dollar arse...
I wouldn't mind the Rockets making a trade involving Steve Blake, but not for the reason you think. Steve Blake's contract is only partially guaranteed for next year. I forget at the moment what the actual guaranteed portion is, but I think it may be about $1-2M of his $4M salary. With the Rockets already over the luxury tax line by about $4M, the following trade could save the Rockets quite a bit of money: Shane Battier for Rudy Fernandez, Steve Blake and a future draft pick If the Rockets make this deal and then immediately waive Blake, they would save a total of about $8M to $12M next year in salary, luxury tax and shared revenues. The Blazers could always re-sign Blake if they like. The pick doesn't have to be a first rounder. I love Battier. But if the Rockets' front office are high enough on Fernandez's abilities, then this could potentially be a trade that both improves the Rockets on the court and greatly assists the team financiallly, both next season and the following summer in free agency with their cap situation.
I don't think I like that trade too much only because I believe that we can get more back for Shane. If it's just focused on saving money and getting Rudy I'd understand but I'm sure we can get a little more for the only semi-Kobe Stopper in the league. Am I right?
Thanks for the clarification, worzel. I actually thought I heard about his salary becoming guaranteed shortly after the draft, but I wasn't sure. Disregard my prior post.
Dream scenario for who? Neither Rudy nor Bayless are Nate McMillan type guards. With Miller in the fold, something has to give, especially if Rudy or Bayless wants playing time.
Rudolfo Fernandez 6-6 SG from Spain (Foreign) 10.4 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.0 apg in 25.6 minutes Jerryd Bayless 6-3 PG from Arizona 4.3 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 1.5 apg in 12.5 minutes Travis Outlaw 6-9 SF from Starkville (HS) 12.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.0 apg in 27.7 minutes Outgoing Players Chase Budinger 6-7 SF from Arizona No games yet played in 2008-2009 Brian Cook 6-9 PF from Illinois 3.0 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 0.2 apg in 6.9 minutes Shane Battier 6-8 SF from Duke 7.3 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.3 apg in 33.9 minutes
i'd rather we sign hakim warrick..... and trade landry, barry, and cook for a center to start or back-up andersen... sign taylor and budinger.... and also sign flip murray if wafer does leave for another team.... line-up brooks/lowry ariza/murray/taylor/ t-mac rehabbing battier/budinger/white scola/warrick andersen/?/dorsey
Blake is a freaking scrub. If he wasn't good enough for Portland, why in the world would the Rockets want him?
I would not be shocked if Blake gets more starts this year than Miller. Bayless does not look like a point guard- he averaged over 6 turnovers a game in the summer league. That's one of the reasons this deal was made. I don't think Blake is the odd man out- Bayless is.
