Dada, I'm suggesting Lenny be an assistant coach. That isn't the same thing as head coach. There would be other coaches besides Lenny under my suggestion.

Therefore, your speculation, which explicitly requires Lenny to be the head coach, is really irrelevant.

First of all I'm gonna say that I doubt Lenny Wilkens would actually be interest in an assistant job, unless he thinks that the "interim" coaching job turns permanent.

Secondly, I guess Mr. Mean's pathetic coaching had kinda made Rudy's coaching look good, but I still think some changes are needed. With this team there should be no excuse for us not to make the playoffs. However, I doubt Lenny is the answer. He's the winningest coach in the league but he's also the all time losingest (if there's such a word). So far he didn't show me anything special, something unique.

So in conclusion, coaching shakeup yes; Lenny no. Also, seeing how soft Lenny is, I'm afraid he'll turn into another Rudy.

What For? What ever your answer is, L.Wilkins is too soft and IS NOT A BIG MANS COACH. WE need Assistant coaches with diciplin.

Obviously you didn't notice Daughtery,Nance,Sikma, and Antonio Davis were all stars under wilkens. During the Mid to late 80's, Daughtery was widely known as the best passing big man in the game. Not only that, he was also known as the 2nd best center in the east behind Ewing and at worse 5th best during a era when centers were dominant. Also won a title with Sikma. The youngsters kill me who don't know $hit about hoops.

The Rockets already have coaches who cannot discipline players.

Lenny is so laid back, he makes Eddie seem hyperactive.

I just wanted to say that this was incorrect. Although the Raps would definitely like to have TRacy McGrady on our team there's no real continued fallout. They've gotten over and have moved on in fact the year after Tracy left the team was one shot away from the Eastern Conference Finals. Anyway sorry for the rant. There's a misconception out there about Tracy McGrady and the Raptor's franchise that needed clearing up.

I don't know if he would do it or not but Lenny would make a great assistant coach for the Rockets. He truly has a knack for developing PG's and perhaps would be able to calm and effectively train Steve Francis to be a real point guard. I think his manners would also serve Yao well.

Lenny has been accused of being out of touch with his players but a fresh batch of players could change all that. He was just in a stagnant situation in Toronto where there were many reasons for why the season sucked.

He was truly great in his day and remains one of mine favorite players and coaches but I think that his time has passed and he's simply too old.

    Damn, you've convinced me...
What does that mean to me? You put Shaq, under a bad highschool coach, and he would still dominate the league. Players who have skill will give you something to show for it. Despite not knowing Daughtery, Nace, Sikma (most people wouldn't anyways); I know that Davis did not come out of his shell under Wilkens. The point stands; he doesn't utilize Big men to the fullest.
