You know, I've read that for some reason Sloan likes McGrady and is interested in acquiring him - but does nobody remember when T-Mac said in an interview that he hated Utah's fans? It was probably the most awesome thing he ever did as a Rocket. But I can't see the fans in Utah being thrilled to see him join their team considering.
This. too, kindasorta supports my speculation: http://www.nba.com/bulls/news/smith_100104.html So what else makes sense? I wonder about the Jazz as they could maybe get the Rockets to take Andrei Kirilenko and throw in Carlos Boozer. Though that doesn’t fit the Rockets’ desires for now. The Jazz seem at a crossroads barely in the playoff race in the west after a Saturday home loss to Denver without Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups. They are well into the luxury tax with a team going nowhere. Chief executive Greg Miller paused for a substantial period after the Saturday Denver loss when asked by a Salt Lake Tribune reporter about breaking up the team. Said Miller: “I haven't lost faith in these guys yet." Boozer has an expiring deal and seems playing for his numbers now. The Jazz just traded Eric Maynor to save money and I’d guess you could get Mehmet Okur if you were interested.
No way DM wants Booze or AK... We have both positions covered for less money, and they are better too!
I am pretty sure even Matt Hapring hated Utah's fans as a Sixer. Once you get to Utah, the transformation from man to beat begins.
I was thinking whether Utah would give the Rockets one of their 1st round picks (either their own or the Knicks') in exchange for Rockets taking Kirilenko's contract away from them.
I suppose I could live with that. does the money match? Boozer doesn't make as much as TMac. There would have to be a lot of fillers.
That's a great deal, but I wouldn't wanna give away brooks, he's our best player, of course chris paul is better, but it'd be nice if we could have both. I guess you can't have everything though...
I was thinking the exact same thing but he would be a great facilitator when yao returns and he is a much better defender than AB. I think he can match AB's numbers in terms of points, rebounds, and assists/turnovers. Unless im mistaken I think they are roughly the same age. CP3 has hit his ceiling and AB hasn't though.
Unless you flipped AK47 and, say, Scola?, for Bosh. Keep Toronto's foreign flava going. Or if we wound up with whichever of the picks winds up more valuable, Utah or New York (hell, NY might even make the playoffs in the Leastern Conference).
man he'll fit. if we can get chris paul right now, i can only imagine what our off-season would look like!!!!
Just to bring you guys back down to the planet Earth, Chris Paul isnt going to get moved at all, at least not this year. Just aint going to happen.
I didn't realize Paul is a base year one contract until later in this thread (Post #15), so New Orleans is pretty much out until at least the summer. However, that doesn't mean the Jazz, the Rockets and another team couldn't be happily hammering out a trade.
well they may not need a chris paul necessarily, but they did trade their back up pg, so they do need a pg.
RA will change his system for sure. NBA is a PLAYER league. The coach always changed their system to fit in the superstar.
Jerry Sloan is a tough guy. If Tracy couldn’t get along with someone like John Weisbrod he definitely won’t get along with Sloan.
I understand Rick doesn't like him but damn! Shipping Tmac to the Jazz would be a pretty harsh punishment. Does he really have to take it this far?
