Could the signing of Pops Mensa-Bonsu means we're going to get Ramon Sessions?

I don't see how a 40% shooter like Brooks can get anywhere near 50%? It would make him better than shooter than All-star guards, Kobe, Steve Nash, Ray Allen, Chris Paul, and Dwayne Wade.

If you believe it, good for you, sir. :)

I like Rubio and would love to have him. I believe Morey is trying to obtain him and if he can't get Rubio he is going to get Sessions. Sessions' career is fixing to hit the fast track. He is a riser. He is a superior point guard to both Brooks and Lowry, a superior passer, floor leader, vision, and yes.............dude can score and score in bunches. The difference between him and Brooks is he actually makes everybody else around him so much better because he is so effective at drawing the D and finding the open man.

I dont know enough about this Sessions guy to make a clear case for him. What I do know is his stats and some play I have seen. What I would like to say is that a guy that brings in 6 assists a night and 12 points in such a short amount of time is better than Landry probably who is also a undersized PF. His 9 points some times is non exisistant and his rebounds are often sporadic. That being said he is important to our team. I just think that a Sessions is better than Landry and more valuable to us as a passing point. Which is something we dont have. Also more valuable to Yao when he comes back. I would much rather see a high scoring backcourt duo than a slow post up PF duo who is undersized. At least with Sessions he would make our PG position a good matchup height wise and on the defensive end therefore. Sessions and Brooks combo has more potential than Landry/Scola combo. Especially when you have so many PFs that could take Landrys spot now with Pops and Hayes behind Scola who should probably play more minutes anyways. After all Scola could be our number 1 or 2 option next year, so what would we be bringing him out of the game just to give Landry minutes for?

Could the signing of Jermaine Taylor mean we're going to get LeBron James?

LeBron is going to leave Cleveland in 2010 and a Barry/Landry package might entertain the Cavs enough to make a trade.

He would be more effective if stays at point. Brooks needs the ball in his hands to operate. He is not the type that catches the ball and shoots. He primarily dribbles and penetrates or steps back for a jumper. More so, He would be abused by the bigger SG of the league.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Also Sessions is a better slasher than Brooks and can finish at the rim better, not as good of a shooter though. He has way more going for him than Brooks who is only an efficient scorer and plays like a tiny 2 guard.

Is it true that Landry can not be traded until Mid September? If so, then that would probably explain why Pops has reached a VERBAL agreement only.

ahhhhh...good point. I think we can all see a hint here. A HUGE HINT. Don't take it lightly guys someone like Pops isn't a superstar you try to get any sort of commitment, verbal or written, from as soon as you can so he becomes your at the earliest opportunit. Someone like him whose market price is pretty much predetermined and pretty much fixed isn't gonna go "reach some sort of verbal informal arrangement and then ponder his options like Hedo Turkoglu".

Carl can't be traded without his permission until the 25th of September. And he cant be traded back to the bobcats but thats hardly relevant. I'd imagine carl would easily agree to a trade to Milwaukee but who knows what exactly is going on.

Maybe the verbal agreement is "We'll sign you to our team as long and as soon as we are able to clear out roster spots before training camp starts?"

Rockets matched Landry's offer sheet September 25, 2008.

Until that date this year, he can't be traded without his consent.

Ah yes...the consent bit....maybe they will trade him after the date, if he is not really all that keen to go.....

I guess they could sign him, and then do a trade later etc.....having too many contracts is not that big of a deal in the OFF season.

If a newly signed player is not part of sign-and-trade, then they won't be eligible for trade again until December 15.

pops is not going to be part of the speculated trade, rather a backup IF Landry goes. So that technicality shouldn't impact our discussion here.
