I thin a pretty good way to assign players to teams is highest percentage of minutes. We shouldn't have guys like Barkley and the Lakers shouldn't have guys like Wilt. This takes more work than I'm willing to put in though...

You guys can't put Gary Payton and Karl Malone on the Lakers because they didn't even have their greatest years on the Lakers...

I think only the lakers and the celtics would be better than us. I also do not see how the Bulls could beat the Celtics in that ESPN poll.

They did this on ESPN a while back, and the Rockets all-time team was ranked #3.

well that bulls team with mj, pippen, and rodman was one of the best all time, so if you add a great center in gilmore and another rugged guard with sloan then you've got a pretty badass team.

No..To answer your question, GOAT Lakers would kill GOAT Rockets.. Laker's just had wayyyy too many great players over the years.. Magic, Wilt, Shaq, Kobe.. WOW..

Any team that plays with Kobe on it will not win when they have equivalent talent. Kobe with Shaq was no where near the "dominant" player he is now, but without Shaq Kobe can't win. I'll put the Rockets on there because I believe a Hakeem in his prime > Shaq.

I agree with Jordan, that is why i believe the bulls team is good. however lets compare the starting five

    Sloan << Cousy
    Jordan >> Havlicek
    Pippen <<<Bird
    Rodman << Mchale
    Gilmore <<Rusel

So basically Jordan was the only player at their position better than the celtics player at his position. When we lok at the front court, we have Gilmore(nice player) and Rodman(great defensive player), Russel is a Much better version of Rodman, better defensive. I personally love Mchale and he is a much better player than Gilmore. So the frontcourt of the Celtics is much better.

Pippen Bird is not even funny hof far these players are apart. the only thing Pippen is better in than Bird is defense, and everything else bird is lightyears ahead of Pippen.

I agree Jordan is better than Havlicek.

So like i said i agree that the bulls are good, but not even close to the celtics. just My opinion.

are u fuking r****ded? How is Shaq a top 10 player of all time? Wilt doesn't count, because he was not as dominant (jhoined them when he was old) and played only a few years for them.

If you had watched any Team USA games you would know that Kobe is actually an outstanding team player when the pieces are there. Watch more of the upcoming USA games and then tell me what you think...

He played 4 of his 14 seasons for them, averaging over 18 rebounds per game each year. His first year in LA he also scored over 27 points per game. That certainly qualifies as dominant. He did tail off in scoring, under 15 ppg his last two seasons, but that was a matter of deferring to West and Westphal, who were serious scorers in their primes.

I also agree with Invisible fan: There is also no way Kobe starts over Jerry West. Maybe some day, but not now.

The Laker team would just destroy any team there, and only the Celtics could make it interesting.

I think this team would dominate for us:

    C- yao
    Pf- hakeem
    Sf- pippen
    Sg- clyde
    Pg- francis

    6th man- t mac

We have great size. Quick, explosive team.

Rockets fans that don't include Elvin and Moses in the GOAT discussion need to do some research.

Pippen rented the uniform. He's not a Rocket. Your team would be playing 4-on-5.

    I agree.

I don't think people are even mentioning Elgin Baylor either.

    Starting lineup:

C Shaq (since Wilt wasn't quite in his prime there one could "settle" for Shaq.)
PF Kareem (athletic enough to do it in his young age)
    SF Kobe
    SG West
    PG Magic

Bench: Baylor (could start his for Kobe--pretty close call there), Wilt, Worthy. I'd probably go with those 8, but if needed I could call on Scott, MacAdoo, Wilks, Nixon, Cooper or Odom for a few filler minutes.

NOTE: I don't think it is fair to put Malone or Payton there because they were shadows of what they once were when they arrived. Its like putting Walton on Boston or Barkley on Houston and treating them at the top of their game--not reasonable.

Nobody is mentioning the 6ers, but:
    C Wilt & Moses
    PF Barkley, Dawkins
    SF Erving, Barkley, Cunningham, Jones
    SG Iverson, Greer, Toney, Hornacek
    PG Cheeks, Iverson

Don't think they would beat the Lakers, but might take anyone else.

Please don't put Pippen and Dikembe on the list...

Players that play the majority of their career somewhere else shouldn't be considered to be one of greatest "rockets".
