I agree MANdry should at least get a coaches nod but obviously the fans are not going to vote him in.

I wouldn't like it if we had an all-star. We've gotten this far this season by buying into the idea that no one person is bigger than the team, having an all-star would go completely against that. Plus, it's hard to see Brooks getting in over Deron, Nash or Paul or one of our power forwards getting in over Pau Gasol, Tim Duncan, Carlos Boozer or even the Rudy Gay/Lamarcus Aldridge/David West types.

No. The individuals, outside of McGrady and Yao, are not good enough players.

The last good team to look like this one were the Pistons. Before their '04 championship (and even the following season) only Ben Wallace was an All-Star. Then, suddenly in 2006, Billups, Hamilton, Ben Wallace, and Rasheed Wallace were all All-Stars.

If Landry can improve his rebound ability, he will have a chance to make all-star someday.

All-star? no, we don't get none on this team, maybe Landry and Scola would have a better chance of getting voted in, Brooks? He's been in his slump recently, not consistent enough to be an All-star.

Landry should start on an NBA team before he gets selected to the All star team.

This is ridiculous, why would the coaches pick him for the bench? Gasol? Duncan? Big Al? Kaman? Boozer? And the list goes on.

People want to see star power/household names in the All-Star game.

I guarantee you that, while everyone has heard of Dirk Nowitzki/Tim Duncan, probably only half that crowd has heard of *Kyle Landry.

*Oops, I meant Carl. I was imagining I was an opponent's color commentator.

He would have to have the best record in the west at the half to be the all star coach

I'm sorry but Landry deserves to be an All-Star this year. You can call me a homer. You can lecture me on how All-Star berths generally aren't awarded to bench players. I don't care. I can't deny what i'm seeing before my very eyes and that's what APPEARS to be one of the best big men in the league. Again, call me crazy but he deserves to be an All-Star. Now, let's make it happen!

Jason Terry a few years ago was SO good off the bench, but he wasn't voted in.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE me some MANdry, but its a long shot to vote Landry in.

I've said it before on this thread, and I'll say it again...Landry, as good as he is, is NOT a star. And people wanting to go the the All-STAR game want to see Stoudemire, and Duncan, and Nowitzki. Not Carl Landry.

The reserves are chosen by the coaches. Landry has been better than Amare this year. You might not think so if you go by the bottom line averages but if you factor in PER and production on per-minute basis, Landry blows him away.

I realize it's a longshot and that when in doubt coaches will vote for the bigger name. Just saying, even taking my Rockets glasses off it's hard to ignore how dominant he's been this year.

As long as the team keeps winning, everyone could be all star, no one needs to be all star.

Yeah, I'll definitely agree here. I'm just saying that people want to see stars, not amazing bench players.

Stoudemire is flashy, and gives a highlight-worthy dunk every game. Landry is hustle, and works like a dog in the post to get his 2 points.

Stoudemire is to Landry as Dwight Howard is to Yao. Flash vs. Hustle.
