He wants to go to a team that can win a championship. That's not the Rockets.

I'd seriously rather be in the lottery than sign Karl Malone.

This is so ... so Karl Malone that it's ridiculous.

He has always been a guy who needs to have his ass kissed up and down, over and over. He constantly has to tell you about what a blue-collar sacrifice-maker he is and how he's not appreciated. This is just classic, vintage Karl Malone.

I don't want Karl Malone. I've hated him forever, but I'll admit I'm a big enough Rockets fan to w**** out the roster spots to just about whoever, so long as they can help us. Especially painful is the fact that Malone is close to exactly what we need at the four spot -- tough, excellent rebounder, great outside shooter, nasty and mean. He's not a shotblocker, but was an excellent defender in his day.

The problem though is he's only a band-aid. He's over 40 ... we need to stop with the band-aids and start finding some players who are young assets to the team who can play around Yao and Tracy for a long time .... or be dealt for the right players.

Malone needs to be coddled. He's not coming to the team owned by the guy who blasted him 8 months ago, nor the team that is 8-11. He might be needed the most here than any other team, but sadly the Rockets are not on any "contender" free agent list right now ... and Van Gundy is no free agent draw.

The single biggest issue I have with him.

We have to build around Yao and Tmac, and players are not going to want to play for JVG and his ugly ball.

Clutch, there needs to be a new BBS rule initiated:

Any Jazzhole threads in the Rockets GARM will automatically get locked. You should also give the BBS member a warning for putting crap like that in a Rockets forum.

KM would be a great fit here too bad he isnt a little bit younger. But say what you will he has kept himself in great condition and could probably get up and down the court better than Yao.

He would bring a couple things to the Rockets that I think we need.

    1. toughness - we would show our big guys what it means to scrap and bully people down low. We all know our big guys need to learn that.

we are missing toughness and yeah maybe a lil dirty play. (by that I mean hard fouls)

I dont want him on our team but I think our guys could learn from him even if its only for a year.

    * ouch can you imagine KM finally getting his ring with us?

HALF OF OUR TEAM IS ALREADY MADE UP OF NY'S TRASH AND NOW MALONE?!?!? IS THIS BIZARROFANS DOT NET?!?!?

I have always loved the Rox, win or lose, and through PLENTY of bonehead moves over the years but Ewing and Karla as part of our organization at the same time--God help me, I couldn't do it

    1. we don't want Malone
    2. We cannot win a ring yet
    3. Malone said last season that he won't play for Rox so he didn't care what we rox fans think of him.

    Case closed.

He's not coming, this says it all...

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/games/2004-04-25-lakers-rockets-game4_x.htm?POE=SPOISVA

Malone had been criticized a day earlier by Rockets owner Leslie Alexander, who said he should be suspended for being a dirty player, and he got into it with Francis after undercutting Nachbar.

"I wouldn't want a job from them. I could care less about what they're saying. I'm not losing any sleep," Malone said. "They're not writing my paycheck, I'm don't care to go out to dinner with them, on and on. I don't care."

Exactly why he shouldn't be on our team.

This is close to my sentiment:

I believe he is exactly what we need. Plus malone is an excellant leader, something we desperately need. It's too bad he is one of the most hated by the rockets.

He's one of them guys you'd love to have on your team, but would hate anywhere else.

I say get him here if he's willing to play for less than say 5million. He'll make us a contender.

I am ready to dodge all rotten eggs that's about to be flying in my direction right about......now.
