Yes my friend. Finally someone recognizes the D I owe them for my name and for being the greatest band in the world!!!! ------------------
How many first round picks do the Rockets get in the coming draft anyway? Ours, Milwaukee's...any more? ------------------ "Segregation is an absolutely horrid practice - except when it comes to numbers and letters. I just don't think they should be mixed." - P. Mesku on his dislike of algebra
Valio, The Rockets owe Vanc a pick in the next two years. It will probably be conveyed this year. Milw pick is definitely the rockets and it can't be conveyed to Vanc unless they start losing big time. I think ORl will convey the rockets a pick this year, but not necessarily till 2004(I believe, unless there is a stipulation on the pick that hasn't been released). Detroit owes a pick in the next two years from the Ratliff Deal that ended up with the rockets in the Mirsad Turcan deal. I believe that if the rockets convey a pick to Vanc, Vanc will convey it to detroit and they will convey it back to the rockets. Puedlfor, Really? IMO, the rockets are in many ways just like the bulls. Last year the bulls had one great player, brand, and a lot of cap space. This year the rockets have, under contract, one great player, francis, and a lot of cap space. If you want to talk about draft picks, the bulls because they lost so much last year were in a better position than the rockets. granted, the rockets have a more respected coach and owner, but so do other teams like miami and ny, two real possiblities for Hakeem and c-webb. ------------------ I am an invisible man.
Hakeem's gone at the end of the season, but his loss brings back capspace. If the Rockets lose Shandon or Taylor it's going to be because they chose not to sign them for what the player was asking, or because they've landed a bigger fish in free agency. Krause's biggest problem is that players hate him, and refuse to play for his team. Rudy and CD are respected throughout the league. The Rockets might not land CWebb this summer in free agency, but rest ashured that they won't be left holding an empty bag when the summer is over. ------------------ In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.
I do believe there are significant differences, I shall elaborate : 1) Were Winning : The Bulls stunk, very few FA's want to play for a team that stinks. The Rockets are in contention for a playoff spot and are a dangerous out in the postseason. When people look at the Bulls and the Rockets, the Rockets are clearly farther along on the court. Plus, players are less apt to leave a team that is successful, that they enjoy playing for. 2) We have a plan : The Rockets have made a clear choice to build this team around Mobley and Francis. As such they have quickly rebuilt the offense to run through these two, and have drafted players to fit this style. The Bulls still run an offense that doesn't suite their players - even after 2.5 yrs - and didn't draft, or trade, to complement their existing personnel, or to even complement the offense they want to run. That kind of confusion does not reflect well on a team. 3) No one likes Jerry Krause, everyone likes Rudy(I'm using hyperbole to make a point) : Players don't want to play for Krause, there are even rumblings that Brand, among others, want to leave Chi-town. I would suggest the Bulls be renamed the Clippers-East, but the Clippers have a brighter future. Meanwhile, most players have a favorable impression of Houston and Rudy T. Those I believe are three significant differences between Houston and Chicago. ------------------ The Rockets will be the NBA champions. Believe.
