Could the assasination of a black president plunge the country into a civil war?

I think the million-dollar question for a black president is, how does he feel about affirmative action, and would he appoint judges who would get rid of it? White gen-Xers and gen-Yers are fairly conservative on this issue: they all expect to get into college (60% of high school grads at last count) and don't feel the same "guilt" that white baby-boomers and previous generations had about civil rights (this is one of the reasons Univ. Presidents and Supreme Court judges, who are old enough to know how easy it is to discriminate against minorities even with current laws, still won't put the nail in the coffin on AA), so they probably want to see this done away with.

In light of this, my dark horse for a black presidential candidate? Ward Connerly.
