Right, I know it's really a pain in the ass for you to see your fellow Rockets fans hype up a star player of the team which you are a fan of (at least that's what you claim, right?).

Know what? If we win the game tomorrow and then eliminate the Warriors in our homecourt, the hype will come back (this is a Houston Rockets fan site afterall if you still have not found out). And then you people will have to retreat to hide in your cave again. But I know you will eagerly wait for the next chance when the team is doing bad again so you can sneak out to talk like smartass. And you probably will hope that the chance comes sooner than later.

You might think you are quite smart to be able to use the ">>" sign. You are so proud of yourself that you had to post that TWICE in that STUPID thread, and on top of that, you have to START an equally if not more stupid thread, to repeat that again?!

if we had shaq in his prime we would have swept the jazz long ago. the pre-injury yao could lead us to the finals too. i'd like that guy to show up soon.

Don't argue anymore. You have proved how stupid you are by having to start this stupid thread to counter the other stupid thread.

BigM and I talked about this last night. Yao pre-injury was just sick and since he came back he will show periods of dominance or even a run of 3-4 good games but whatever it is (still not 100% back, scared of re-injury, injuries have slowed him to a point where he is not that quick) Yao can/should dominate but for whatever reason he looks out of place and I really just hope it's the way Utah is defending him and not the real Yao.

Come on big fella snap out of it.

Oh yeah your right with Shaq (in his prime) we sweep Utah, sweep Golden State, beat the Spurs in 5-6 and sweep the team that comes out of the east.

No, I am a fan of this board, not a fan of this team. This board is far more interesting than this team. Unlike some others, I don't feel it is necessory to pretend to be a Rox fan so I can post here. I am just honest, to everyone and myself.

I am consistent and I won't change my position. Yao is a good player, an all-star, but he is not a super star. I accept who he is and why can't you. When Yao is doing well, some of you guys hype him up to no end like he is god, but if he underperforms, you guys then trash him because he can't meet your unrealistic expectation. I think you are actually doing him a disservice, that is all.

LOL. You are just like a kid pissing in public, and shouted at others, that you didn't invite them to watch you piss.

News flash to you, this is not your private board. It's a privilege to start a thread, and it's not owned by you. You are not entitled to invite or disallow anything or anyone.

    Don't forget one thing,

    THE RULE HAS CHANGED...

If Yao could play with the old rules, he would be just as dominate as Shaq in his prime

    here we again

Shaq could take this team deep into playoffs, but they would eventually bow out to team the Spurs, Pistons, Suns, and etc. losing in the conference finals or semi-finals.

Shaq was probably the most dominate player in NBA history, but he did not win title until 99-00, which is about 8 years and about 9 NBA season.

When Shaq went to the finals he played on some of the best teams in NBA history.

    with the Magic

Horace Grant (in his prime), one of the best rebounders in the league and all-defensive player, and 3 time champ with the bulls.
    Penny Hardaway
    Dennis Scott
    Nick Anderson

at the time that was one of the best starting 5's in the league. In fact, Orlando was supposed to beat Houston fairly, easy but they ended up getting swept. Speaking of which that team got swept again the next season by the Bulls.

In his first 3 seasons in L.A., Shaq probably had one of the most talented rosters in the last 15 years the NBA.

    first 2 seasons
Elden Campbell - decent pf, could play and did play center
Eddie Jones - all-star guard, great defender,
Nick Van Excel - another all-star calibur guard, who was very clutch could provide a team with instant offense
Rick Fox- another great defender, good rebounder, and all-round performer
    Derek Fisher
The artist formerly Known as "number 8" - we know what happened him
Cedric Ceballos - he had some seasons where averaged over 20 ppg.

But guess what that team did not even reach the finals and lost to much lesser talented Utah team two years in row.

The next year, they traded a few players and they

Glen Rice- one of the best scorers and 3pt shooters in the league at the time
    Dennis Rodman
    Robert Horry-
    Derek Fisher
    Robert Horry-
    with that number 8 guy

and they got swept by San Antonio.

Shaq always had superior talent when his team got to the finals, all of these players were far better than the scrubs on the Rockets.

So, not only a dumb kid, but also a sour loser and spoiled kid? :)

Clutch should run some background checking before he accepts registration.

For one, I am not one of the posters here who have hyped up either Yao or Tmac. And I have never trashed any of them. So save your sensational rant for the ones who have actually done that here.

Now back to my post that you have problem with, I am not specifically talking about your last post only. I have a pretty good memory and I remember what most of the posters have said before in this forum. If you want to understand more about what I said in my last post, re-read your own past posts. May be you will be able to understand more about yourself after doing that. Good luck.

    Ditto.

Shaq is an all-time legend, and in his prime there are very few big men I would pick over him on the all-time list (His only competition is Wilt, Dream and Kareem). He was an absolute monster, and it's not a knock on Yao to say that he's nowhere near as 'dominant' as Shaq was in his prime; it's just unfair to Yao to make that comparison, it would be no different from comparing him to Dream, you're basically setting him up for failure.

Anyways, Yao will always be limited by his 7'6" frame. I still maintain what I've always said about him: if he was 4 inches shorter (around 7'2"), he would be twice the player he's now. It would mean that he's much quicker than he is now and he wouldn't look as 'clumsy' or slow-footed as he often does, not to mention that his stamina problems would be almost a non-issue.

He has the requisite skills, he has the footwork and the touch, he's just physically challenged.
