You know, the Knicks might just finish the season with an interim coach. That might be the smart thing to do. Even if they make the playoffs, they aren't contenders when you compare them to the Pacers, Pistons, and Heat.

So, if that were to happen, could you see JVG going back to NY, where he's still loved to this day, and that opening the door for Phil Jackson to come to Houston?

Don't be naive........JVG is loved here and around Houston. He helped us get rid of Francis and land Mac.

That said the only silly ones who do not like him are the infantile ones who jumped ship early when the going was tough and a few others who are "anti-yankees". For the impatient one who spoke too soon, it is hard for them to retrace their steps now that we are back on the right track - they rather die than see themselves eat crow and support/love JVG. That is the politcs of life and this BBS that I do not expect everyone to understand but with time will permeat into more folks brains at the beat goes one.

Again I challenge anyone to take a poll now and you will be pleasantly amazed how much JVG is loved/like by the majority.

As for Phillip, he is overrated. He could not handle mere Kobe and he thinks he can handle Sura? He is the same coach that cannot coach offense (Tex Winter) and defense (Clemons) and he is to egotistic. Michael carried him and made everybody on his team better then later he gravy-train[ed] Kobe and Shaq for three more.

if we get PJ we'll be more like the bulls of the 90s than the lakers of 2000-2003......TMAC = MJ...and PJ will turn yao into more like Luc Longley shooting mid range jumpers than a shaq type

I have to dissagree w/ you. JVG has turned the corner and changed his style of play. Im sure some of the "bandwagners" have jumpped back on this ship BUT i think the majorty of the board still dislikes JVG and his coaching tools.

P.S. Ill take the CHALLENGE! Of course a friendly one.

I still dislike JVG. Where do I vote?

I'll give him credit for changing his attack. This team is playing better, much like the Knicks did with Spree, Houston and Camby did when Ewing went down with injury and allowed them to run. The team gets good jumpers, but we can do even better. I think he's above average, but a bad fit for a finesse team, which we have. We're not ever going to be bruisers or defensive wizards.

A truely great coach, like Jackson, can do more with our allstars. Getting the most out of them is the number 1 thing for this franchise.

Besides the fact Phil Jackson was a Knick, there's not many appealing things about the NY job.

I think Phil Jackson is too smart to take the Rockets job now. However, as soon as Yao is locked up in a long term deal, he might come calling.

I think Jackson would probably help the Rockets because of things similar to what DD said.

I don't think he's necessarily a perfect fit. I think he'd be good. But I hate him. I hate his arrogance. I hate that he wants full control of everything. I hate that he thinks his way is the only way, all the time. Yes, it'd be nice for Yao to be a little more arrogant than he is...but I don't want someone in the organization to the degree that Phil is. Please no.

I hated him nearly the whole time he was in New York. I thought he was and has been one of the most overrated coaches of all time. My opinion changed, however, with all that came out last summer after he quit...what he had to put up with (Kobe).

If this team doesn't appear to be going anywhere at the end of this season, I'd give Phil a serious look.

Yes, the Rockets would be a very elite team with Jackson, he is the greatest coach of all-time.

I would rather have Rudy then PJ, but either is better than JVG.

JVG is arguably better than Rudyt anyday.

Another YOF? Sura is not a ball hogger - he is more like a warrior unlike Yao :p

Unfortunately the way you worded the thread it came off similar to "When did you stop beating your wife?". Not that many people take time out of their lives to "HATE" people. I know I don't. Had the question been "Would you like to see ANY new coach for the rockets?" the poll may have shown completely different results.

    You're an idiot.

I am so sick of this stupid crap.

Sura's the closest thing to a pure point that we've had since Brent Price.

And we're winning with him and were losing without him.

    Shut. The. Hell. Up.

It was funny for a week or two but it's boring now.

Sura's unquestionably the third best player on our squad. Appreciate it.

I agree. If Phil turns down the offers this year and takes another 2 year break like he did with the Bulls, it's almost certain that he'd want this job. Granted Yao would continue to improve, Phil is healthy, and the price is right (10 million/year).
