Your thread is a complete backhand compliment - comparing a 35 year old 6th man to a 24 year old starter who's just starting out. It's like comparing Lin to Andre Miller (on the down). If Lin was playing for the Wizards as the main PG (without Wall) controlling the team. I can guess with some certainty based on "teamplay" that they will probably make the playoffs. The problem with Lin is that he's been overcoached and his insecurity is surfacing in a big way. It's literally night and day between Linsanity and a dude standing in the corner. Sure he has a lot of skills he needs to pick up along the way, but psychology goes a long way especially in the sport of basketball. If you watch any of the pro interviews - they all mention one thing. In this level of the sport its all about confidence. McHale (yes, i'm blaming him) - is not totally mindfuxking the dude and it shows.
This is like hoping Sylvestor Salon could beat Floyd Mayweather in a real boxing fight. Only problem is Rocky isn't a true boxer just like Lin is not a true star player.
Look, I dislike Ginobili quite a bit for flopping reasons, but Lin should be HONORED to be compared to Ginobili on a career basis, which I'm pretty sure was Tinman's point..
Not sure anymore, I thought Lin would be tougher than what he did in the playoffs. He needs to work hard in the off season, to hell with the interviews and travels.
This. The fact that so many geniuses here took this as an insult is quite funny to me ... it speaks volumes! I bet Lin admires Ginobili, and that's actually a good thing. Don't discount a player entirely for a certain few reasons, whatever exactly they may be (speaking in general here) ... look at the whole picture. There is something to learn from every one out there on the floor.
For some reason, I always think of Parker when hear about Lin's future. Parker also had a terrible shot and was no where elite when he started out. If Lin puts in the effort in off season, I hope he ends up half as good as Parker.
Jesus. Lin is our starting point guard and deserves to be. He played every game this season and got along with harden. Bev is a great pick up and a very good back up. End of story.
