No. Unless he develops a reliable jumper, can drive into the lane AND get the foul calls, and can swat a bat out of the air on one try.
Ginoboli is in the best of the best tier, and I don't believe Lin could ever reach such a plateau, especially in McHale's offense, maybe if he were being coached by MDA.
Just trade Lin to a squad that actually needs a PG. Let's not front, the current setup is a cancer to both the Rockets and to Lin's growth. Too much psychology and not enough play (PG). Ginobili is 6th man because he's old dude.
Could you imagine if it had been ginobli instead of Asik driving the lane on the epic double flop? Time space would have collapsed upon itself
You are all totally not getting it. Lin is easily a better player than Beverly. The issue is that Lin has not figured out exactly when he should look to score and when he should look to pass. He is still very young and only looks to shoot as the very last option. Understanding that situation and when to do what, totally comes experience.
I would not say 'easily' based on the post season performance and reliability. Beverly is 'still very young' too. The Rockets have had 'patience' with point guards before. Guns N Roses had more 'Patience'
yeah, Lin was a litttle above average a season ago. At this moment, he is playing like a beloow average point guard.
I don't know. I hope so. Lin has the tools to be like Manu, but lacks the mental strength. I suppose that comes with experience.
Beverly is young too, but just watching both play it is not hard to see both have very different styles of game. While Beverly could easily develop into a very good 3rd Banana Starting PG playing off a playmaker with defense (perhaps a more controlled Rafer) I still think Lin could end up being a more complete player. Lin does need more reliability, but honestly I remember Bonzi Wells destroying the Spurs in a 6 game playoff series. Does not mean he will be a better player On the outside looking in, I agree it would appear that the Rockets have lacked patience. However, we don't see the practices. And while there are some exceptions, great PG's/players often show signs very early in their careers.
don't worry, this thread has now dropped to a 3 star rating. tinmac may have initially rated his own thread 5 stars but after more people read it, it has continued to plummet.
