Indiana does not suck. They added George Hill and David West. They have a lot of decent improving youth as well. I agree with your Philly assessment and that for Detroit and Washington.

Do not forget the Bucks. They were a playoff team the year before. And they added Stephen Jackson. If Bogut stays healthy, that team should be in playoff contention as well.

Here's what I think will be the seeding in East this year:

    1) Chicago
    2) Miami
    3) Atlanta
    4) Orlando - if they keep D12
    5) Boston
    6) New York - if relatively healthy. If perfect health, 3rd seed.
    7) Philly
    8) Indiana
If Knicks suffer major injury to big 3: The Bucks could take their spot.

We're not sadistic, we don't want the Knicks to suck EVERY year. Just this one, so we can maximize our pick value. There's no way they'll be worse than Cleveland, Detroit, and Toronto, and then it's a toss up in terms of how Washington, Sacramento, Golden State, Utah, Charlotte, Minnesota, New Jersey, (Houston? :( ) will do, so if one of their stars can miss a significant amount of time I think it's safe to say that we'll be getting a nice, non top-5 pick in the lottery at their expense.

This is the only year that matters to me. I would really like to get a pick between 10 and 5 while I would like to see Minny in our customary 14 spot.

Yes, one Amare twisted knee away from the lottery. I suspect we are going to hold on to our assets and see how out plays out in the East and if the Knicks are sucking at the trade deadline, we could shuffle off Scola or Martin to Philly or Indiana for expiring/pick to help them over the top of the Knicks and make it more difficult for the Knicks to make the playoffs.

I don't think the Knicks will be a train wreck this season, but they can't keep using Amare like they did last season and expect to get much out of him. Playing as many minutes as he did would be tough on even the most durable of players.

They are good enough to be a border line playoffs team even if one of their stars got hurt.

They weren't a train wreck last year even pre-Melo trade. And that trade was hanging over their heads the entire time. They are making the playoffs and I see them as one of the top seeds.

I remember seeing Chandler sit out a good amount of games when he was in NO with toe injuries. And with Amare he's always been prone to either eye injury or knee issues. Performance wise though, unfortunately the way their conference is set up, even with a losing record they have a legit shot of making the play offs

Plus with our luck we're probably going to be the ones that get injuries, not them.. =/ (knock on wood)

This. At best, they're one serious injury away from fighting for the eighth seed. They won't be a train wreck though.

Saying the Knicks are an injury away from being finished can be said for most NBA teams.

The Knicks might have the worst bench in the league.

    FisolaNYDN Frank Isola
Breaking: Knicks lose another one. Shawne Williams, according to a source, decides to sign with Nets

Knicks reportedly lose out on Shawne Williams after losing out on Jamal Crawford. That bench could be ugly.

Not overrating Williams, but your back-up PFs/centers now are: Balkman, Jeffries, Jorts and...

    1) My prediction season record skills are pretty decent vs Vegas Hilton, pretty much the only major property that still puts up up a record line. Well, they did last year, and my spreadsheet, which I think I posted here, was pretty good.

    2) I did not know Indiana added West. So, they should be better, but 2 years ago only won 32 games and then 37 last year. That means they have sucked 2 years ago and last year. They could be a +.500 team this year. Maybe there just around .500. But saying "Hibbert, West Granger" means nothing because they have Hibbert and Granger last year and they sucked.

    3) I'm a Wizards fan. I lived in DC for 4 years. They suck. They're young and undisciplined.

    4) Predicting regular season win/losses for every team is very very very very hard to be consistently good at.

Milwaukee took a huge step backwards last year. I had them as a 48+ win team last year and they totally missed on that. It was mainly Bogut. His arm injury 2 years ago destroyed his shooting touch. He can still rebound, but his ability to make anything other than layups and dunks was impacted greatly.

I'd say it was the lack of a decent backup PG when Jennnings missed games and he wasn't healthy. Not re-signing Ridnour was a bad move for them.

What I'm hoping happens...Stoudemire goes down. The additional load w/the 4 games a week causes Carmelo to go down (domino affect). Chandler and the NY bench miss the playoffs giving us more balls in the bin. Just hope they stay out of top 5.
