T-Mac is great player and will improve throughout his career. At this time though, it stands as this:

    Jordan > T-Mac

Can Jordan play effectively with Yao?

Yao may wilt under intense criticism by MJ. Look at what happened to Kwame.

Of course, it is possible that MJ's in-your-face leadership is exactly what was needed to jump start Yao's aggressiveness.

However, given Yao's personality, I think he would be intimidated rather than inspired by Jordan's intensity and ego.

What a waste of a thread? If Wilt were our center.....? If Superman played the point....?

MJ Yes. Why? Because the officiating crew would have had to follow the "Jordon Rules" and sent his heirness to the line every time he touched the ball down the stretch and allowed him to hack at will. This would have prevented there every being a game 6 or 7.

If my uncle didn't have .... could he be my aunt? Now somebody post some free agent news or Rocket trade rumors or go back to bed!!!!

Easy on the bong. He was great, but, he had a little help from a fellow named Stern as did Magic and Bird. Every see Magic take five steps down the lane and no travel. Ever see him travel Period!

Take away the 12 free throws a game from his career scoring average due to the Jordon rules, plus, take away a few other points he scored because people were afraid to guard him (due to fouling out) and you have Ron Harper before he blew his knee with the Cavs.

Great question!! More than likely, he would have still been given the Stern treatment and we would have been "unbeatable" until Ralph's knee problems. Stern's plan for marketing and ratings was always to create a Mega star on the East Coast (Bird), West Coast (Magic), and MidWest (Jordan) and Houston is kinda of Midwest but could he draw that market from Houston?. There was a fellow named Harper in Cleveland who may have gotten Stern's love as he was in a market closer to the "2nd City". Before he blew his knee, Harper was everybit the scorer and flashy player Jordon was (minus the advantage of unlimited free throws).

    Chill down Jordan-hater ;)

Jordan earned the "Jordan rules". He was an amazing player from
    the very beginning.

Playing against zone? A 40 years old Jordan had a FG% of 44+%,
the highest Tmac ever achieved. Now imagine a 25 years old
Jordan, he would destroy the league and win quite a few playoff
series as a 8th year veteran (TMac has been in the league for
how many years? No excuse if you ever want to compare to Jordan).

I am not a Jordan Hater. I hated to watch him play my team and see what he would get away with. I hated watching him "go away" on his gambling ban errr baseball career and see him get reinstated to "save" the NBA from another Knicks/Rockets blood bath. He was given the "rules" to help save the NBA and market the Midwest to create coastal and central rivalries. If you will recall, he was in a stiff competition with Harper for the full rules before he blew his knee. Your Sunday NBA games involved 4 teams; Boston, Cleveland (Ehlo, Harper, Daugherty), Chicago, and LA. Once Harper was out, Cleveland was out and the reduced Harper eventually joined his heirness as a Jordanaire. I don't hate the man, I hate the rules and the man who gave them to him. I would have loved to see what he would have become without the treatment and would there still be this revered awe about him as a career 22 points a game guy.

I'm sure Jordan would have only averaged 22 points a game. I mean, he only averaged 37 his second year. Yeah, you're no hater.

I am no star gazer or jock-sniffer either. I actually played. Can you say as much.

I can't stand when athletes get preferential rules and treatment. You may as well say it is oK for Bonds to juice but it is against the rules for everyone else. When you can put your palm in your defenders chest and shove them to the ground and they call a block on the guy flying to the ground, you have an unfair advantage. With that advantage, you might even be able to get ten a game in the show if you can hit a free throw and you are probably no more athletic than my grandmother :p

yeah I think that pretty much goes without saying.

This topic isn't even debatable. Jordan > anyone who's ever played nba basketbal.

If you don't think so, you're either crazy, bias, or never saw the things MJ did on the court. If you need your memory refreshed, I can lend you my Jordan DVD box set.

I'm sorry, its actually professional jealously.

I'm not jock sniffing, to say Jordan would have only scored 22 points a game without the help of a few preferential calls a game is stupid, especially considering he averaged 37 his second season when I'm sure the league could not have cared less about building him up to be the player he became. Now you sound bitter your career didn't go as well.

I mean bragging about playing and trying to put me down because I didn't but yet and still you're posting on this web site with the rest of us wannabes. My how the mighty have fallen.
