Could it be that we're just not that great and last year = fool's gold?

If you don't know what's going on, just say "fool's gold" and 78% of people will nod in agreement.

Quit saying "we" when referring to the Rockets.

JVG said it in the warrior's broadcast, without a pf that can shoot 3's, draymond green just played help goal keeper the whole time.

It wasn't necessarily fool's gold, but a lot went right for the Rockets in terms of catching breaks and being fortunate given the circumstances. But, in the end, luck always plays a part in teams making deep post-season runs. You just can't rely on continued good fortune going forward.

    guys. guys. guYS. chill. pls

You realize we're two games into the season? You know how much that really means?

    The Pistons are 3-0.

    The Knicks are 2-1

    Chill.

We have Marcus Thornton as our third string SG.

We have Montrezl Harrell as our technical 3rd string PF.

Jason Terry as our Third String PG/or third string SG depending where you put Brewer and Thornton.

We have an AMAZING 1-2 punch at the PG, which I like to ponder on the fact that it may be the best PG duo in the NBA (or maybe the Suns. But it's definitely debatable)

James Harden and Ty Lawson are just not gelling right now. They'll get there. Harden wasn't a fluke last year by any means... he played 81 games. And he was magnificent in 80% of those games. He's amazing. He's a superstar and a top 5 player in the league.

Trevor Ariza is streaky but he's a great defender and you know what he can do in clutch moments. He shows up when he needs to.

    Jones is Jones. He sucks.
BUT DMO... that's another story. He's got an almost unstoppable post game (if he's able to recover from this injury)

Howard is not old Howard but I feel as if he couldn't even get a rhythm last game due to the bs foul calls/inconsistency with the officiating. He's fine guys. One offseason doesn't do THAT much to somebody.

Guess they can skip the remaining 80 then? I mean seriously - you act like they will go 82-0. They are a great team. But that doesn't mean they won't go down.

    You don't say, Carl?

    This is a fan forum.

    Further -

The Houston Rockets are an organization not amalgamated technically with its fan base. However, the NBA wouldn't exist without us fans. Collectively fans have put great time and resources to support the teams. If you ever bought a Rockets T-shirt, spent some dough on tickets, sat through the ads during a game, adjusted your personal schedule to watch a game - then you have the right to say "We" when referring to the Rockets.

Agree about Smith (very good take). Smith brought toughness to a very soft team overall.

BINGO. I bet the same thing happened vs. DEN. GS exposed that issue last year in the playoffs, too. If you're big vs. HOU, you'll do enough, because refs aren't just going to bail you out all day.

HOU's been average for years behind the 3 point line, so we'll have to see if we get it fixed. Not going to be easy, however.

The poster that was directed at is a "DMO only fan", according to the signature.

Someone mentioned it in another thread I think, but this has the looks of the 2013-14 Knicks season. The 12-13 Knicks made a nice run and had the best season in a long time for that francise. Then the next season with basically the same staff and roster they fell off. I know the rockets added Lawson and that's a big addition but this could be a huge letdown season.

This is a different team than the one that made it to the Western Conference Finals last season.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. So what did Morey do?

He broke it with an unnecessary roster overhaul adding new players and letting a key player from last season's playoffs (Josh Smith) walk!

I was the lone voice on this board saying the Rockets had a terrible offseason and got blasted for it.

    Well, now you know.

There are so many failures in this post I had typed out a response but towards the end I just couldn't stop shaking my head so I deleted it.

by who? Most "so called" experts had the Rockets barely making the play-offs last year.
