Okay, I think its fair for me to say this since I only have one 2nd round pick... But I think we should cut off the ability for new GMs to sign up for the real crap teams right in the middle of the season thus bumping other picks down....Because some people might make trades for picks they think will be the #1 or #2 overall pick, and then a person just comes in and takes the value of their pick down a lot... ------------------ Who's ya daddy?

I do not agree that we should cut out the opprotunity to get a full league. Everybody trading know that they most likely will not get the high pick as we always get new people joining before drafts and during the season. A way to comprimise is that we do not allow the new GMs to get the top pick(s). It is possible to allow new GMs to signup and let all lottery teams from last season draft ahead of the new teams and then let the new teams draft ahead of the playoffs teams (pick 9-13). But if we do it this way we say that new GMs for the bottom 5 teams won't compete ever (or for a very long time). ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage

I think a fair deal could be to let the 5 (possibly) new teams draft in position 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 after thinking about it some more. That keeps them out of the top3 picks and allows them to pick some earlier based on their record. Allowing them to pick 4-8 would not work as good as that would push the earlier number 4 spot down 5 places. With spacing them out is should be fair for everybody. the ONLY incentive anyone would have to join are high picks, because there are no impact players on their teams. Why take that away? If by some chance the league fills up, and the gms prove to be active over a season or 2, then maybe there should be that 12 round draft that has been mentioned before. ------------------ snap crackle pop

No they are not plotting against you - you have a good team and will not get those highpicks mentioned anyway. It was all about the 5 current non-GM teams (Heat, Magic, Hornets, Suns, Warriors) - and I for one do not think taking away their pick is a good move as it will make it hard for possible new GMs of these teams to compete. Everybody should consider when trading for picks that they probably will slip as we most likely will get new GMs before the next draft. Anyway there has not been that much trading for the highest picks in the rookie or 1st round so no one should complain. btw I have Sonics current 4th pick so I would be perhaps the one hurt most by my opinion. The only teams to have traded up in the (current) top 16... yupp thats 16 picks ... is me, Jazz and Sonics, and all of us probably knew about the possibility that new GMs would push our picks down when we made those trades. ------------------ The CC.net NBA Sim Board/Homepage
