You do realize that Duncan Parker Ginobli are a Big 3 and were not always old right?

That only means that in terms of clearing cap space. Obviously you can't trade Asik or Lin to NY or Miami to clear cap space in terms of directly signing a player.

In terms of a S&T, it may or may not include NY or Miami (more likely with NY than Miami). And if you were acquiring Lebron in a S&T, you would most likely need to include a top flight impact player like Harden as I don't see Miami helping out in any S&T scenario short of giving them a legitimate all star.

Most likely scenario's in order of probability (in my view)

    Likely
    1. S&T Asik+Lin+ Tjones/Parsons + picks for Melo either directly to NY or involving a 3rd team
    2. Directly trade Asik + Lin + filler + picks to other teams to clear cap space to directly sign Melo

    Unlikely
    3. Directly trade Asik + Lin + filler + picks to other teams to clear cap space to directly sign Lebron

    Really, really long shot
    4. S&T Asik + Lin + filler + picks for Melo (direct or 3rd team), S&T Harden + players + picks for Lebron

It all depends on where Melo wants to go, where he ends up going, and what Lebron wants to do.

Either way, going to be an interesting off season.

there is not really a benefit to signing LeBron via S&T except the ability to use the MLE afterwards. If we sign LeBron outright, we could offer him ~$19M/year whereas his max is ~20M/yr. Melo on the other hand is dropping from ~24M/year (max) to ~19M/year if we sign him outright. The difference for LeBron is basically meaningless but Melo will be leaving about ~20M over his contract + losing his 5th guaranteed year. That's why I believe if we are acquiring Melo at all it will be via S&T, whereas LeBron has a much better chance of being signed outright.

^^ i find that very weird, considering Lebron was the same way. Dwight's play in the playoffs should prove to Lebron that Dwight isn't playing around..

Also, it's interesting that Dwight went on and on about how he needs to be more serious right before potentially landing Lebron who would want that from him.

If LeBron opts out, maybe they would talk about that. I mean, if LeBron James opts out he would have to at least listen to an offer.

Nothing... They are just trying to stir up drama... They are still sore that Howard left Orlando most likely, even if they deny that... Just because they write about it, it doesn't make it true, especially when its from Howard's first state that he played in... Either that or we are still getting no respect... Who wouldn't want to play with Dwight? They just hating... and they need to stop being bratty.

What I read didn't say he doesn't like him. Author just speculated that he might find Dwight's personality irritating.

LeBron could probably be our oldest starter next season. Imagine that.

BTW, check this year's potential FA list. If we do have to lose a few players to clear cap space, we could EASILY sign a player at MLE at equal or better value. Same goes for VetM.

But if we clear cap space we can't use MLE. That's why SnT would be preferred.

I could see if this was Michael Jordan in his prime but we talking about Lebron James. Houston has a great shot because they have Dwight and Harden.
