Who first talked about penis in this thread huh? Who? Is it you? Answer me. So is it your way to tell us you only possess the intelligence of a 7 years old? You are the worse kind of worthless scums on the internet.
I know you are too much a coward to say the r****ded and inflammatory posts in anyone's face in real life too. What's your point?
I think Bruce Lee would do well in MMA, but i would rather see him fight in K-1 against Buakaw. I grew up watching Bruce Lee...have alot of respect for him, but i got my money on Buakaw. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wJcQ1lAs28I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Bruce didn't have one style. He was actually one of the first to begin teaching multiple techniques and modernizing fighting by evolving it as needed. He was controversial in his day because he was getting away from traditional style and creating his own. He also was frowned on for teaching white people. It was so bad a martial artist in San Francisco challenged him and if he lost he would have to stop teaching white people. Bruce apparently chased him around for the first few minutes of the fight and then finally beat him in a grapple/submission. Would he last in today's circus known as the MMA? The boy grew up street fighting in China and then became one of the top martial artists in the world and revolutionized it in America. He is also a physical wonder and bases his fighting style off intecepting a move and reacting rather than relying on chains of preconceived moves. Yes Lee would destroy in the MMA if he thought it was worth his time. If he were here today and in his prime he'd spend his time making movies instead and teaching where he could make more money. MMA is a joke to serious martial artists.
What does Asian have to do with anything? Does you being a moron have something to do with this idiotic post?
That is false. As I have said a few times in this thread there were innovators integrating multiple martial arts and efficient techniques decades before him.
Because he hasn't got his Devry education yet? BTW did you ever actually follow through on that (too lazy to comb old threads)? But Asian parents in the U.S. do have high expectations, probably because a lot our Parents crossed a freaking ocean and left everything behind to come here for a better life. I personally would feel like if I can only get a Devry education, it would be like a slap in the face to the sacrifices my parents made. Of course if I never go to college but can make $100K per year doing things that are legit, I think it'd be fine. True, but I think the current top mix martial artists would still win. Bruce Lee has said some one training a year in boxing and a year in wrestling would beat a TMA master. Jet Li also apparently stated that he'd be bested by MMA fighters in the cradle 2 the grave excerpt. That's what's amazing about Bruce Lee, he realized limitation of his original style and started incorporating other style to create JKD.
True, but he is probably the first to publicly do it in film and or marketed it... When Bruce came out with those fighting books, most of them were written by other Martial Artist and then incorporated with his notes he left behind when he died... He exposed all aspects' of Martial arts to a wider broader audience for sure...
That's all you had to say man... I'm inclined to respect that and agree. Whassup with all the other stuff? You're good at what you train for... maybe if he trained for it and he's got good ethics.
Not really, it's still a r****ded thing to say. First of all Rocky is a fictional character so unless he's talking about Sylvester Stallone it doesn't make any sense. Second of all, if he is indeed comparing Bruce Lee's martial arts skills to Stallone's boxing skills, he's truly showing his DeVry education. Bruce Lee was a professional martial artist who was in movies. Stallone is an actor who played a boxer. It's like comparing Ray Allen ("He Got Game") to rapper Common ("Just Wright").
Rocky was not a fighter before he was a actor. Rocking also didn't start talking about the concepts of modern boxing at a time when bare knuckle was popular. Rocky also didn't start a prestigious boxing gym or go challenge other gyms. I think Bruce Lee has strong work ethic and desire for martial arts, and if given the opportunity to train, would succeed at it. Even if he isn't a good fighter, I think he can still be a great coach (a la Greg Jackson and Freddie Roach).
Again, with all due respect, there's good and then there's professional level. I once saw an interview with some guy saying he's a obsessed with physical training which if he took the professional fighting route, who knows but he didn't. You can see in the movies the moves, which I'm sure he spends alot of time perfecting, won't work in the ring. You either have the actor Bruce Lee or the MMA Bruce Lee, but not both. Just IMO
I'm not arguing if Bruce Lee fought without training specifically for MMA, he would lose. Just like if Kurt Angle fight in MMA today, he would not do that well. However, if he focused on MMA for a few years, based on all the interviews of people who know him, we know Bruce was a genius in at least the philosophy of fighting and if he fought in MMA, with the right training, I believe he can pick stuff up quickly and be successful.
