Vince Cater as MVP???? HAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!!!!!!! The came just lost all credibility with me (though that clip does look awesome)...
All I know is....NEVER has Derek Fisher been able to score anything over 20 points on me in ANY of the sega 2k series. The last time I played Live 2003, Fisher dropped 54 points on me in the 7th game of the west finals. I think that's enough said for EA's "gameplay".
In previous years, the rosters are set as of mid September so I don't think that Rice will be gone. Pike probably will be on the roster but not Jackson. Maybe if the PC version comes out later it will have the new roster additions but I don't think so
In case anyone's interested, the finalized Roster date for NBA 2k4 was August 30. Not sure about live.
I wish you could download the current rosters from the internet. That would make the games so much better.
EA games on PS2 allow you to. I already have the updated Madden rosters, and am waiting for the NHL season to start to get the updated NHL rosters.
Damn, I guess I better haul my a** to Best Buy and buy the network adapter. I wonder if that will be available for NBA Live 2004. If it will be, that will be a HUGE advantage for the game.
Of course it will be available. That's why I think EA games rule. Well I gotta get a network adapter, then buy a cheap wireless B network with USB adapter and and bridge for the PS2. Does anyone have the microphone add-on for PS2? And can you play online with PC users or only other PS2/XBox users?
Also found this from an interview with the producer: EA SPORTS: Any cool things like old-school uniforms and teams added into the game? Gary Lam: The Hardwood Classics (or throwbacks) were a huge hit for us in NBA Live 2003. We have added many more for 2004. Originally, we were planning to include some championship teams from the past. Unfortunately, due to some licensing issues there were way too many players whose rights the NBA could not secure. This would have meant not having some really important players on those championship teams. We didn't think this was good enough for our consumers so we had to make the difficult decision to focus our attention elsewhere in the product. That's unfortunate. I was looking forward to the old Rockets. Oh, and are updates (like jerseys, players, arenas, etc.) available on PS2 or only via PC? Here's a pic of Yao in the game:
OMG if that's the cover of NBA Live 2004, we are screwed. You guys know the cover jinx right? Ex's Michael Vick's broken leg, etc. http://sports.espn.go.com/espngamer/story?id=1594186 I really hope that's not the cover.
