Could a Nets/Rockets trade happen due to the recent Nets woes?

What young role player fits alongside Ariza...

Ariza should be the role player who fits along side star player. My point is, don't give away Battier for a role player, give him up for that star who Ariza can work off of, if thats not do-able, then keep him.

 

This team is already made up of solid role players what they need is 3 stars. Caron Butler won't help much, David Lee won't help much, etc.

The only guys I like on the Nets are Harris, Lee, and Lopez. Any offer they give us has to include one of those players or I'd hang up the phone right away. I don't think they are shopping those guys right now.

On a side note, I think it is fairly far-fetched to assert that "nobody wants Shane". Just that nobody WITH MUCH 2010 CAP ROOM wants Battier's $7.4M guaranteed 2010-11 salary. I think any contender that does not have much cap room for this summer would LOVE to add a Shane Battier.

I still think a Battier-to-Portland deal for a package including Rudy Fernandez (perfect fit), as opposed to Travis Outlaw (somewhat repetitive of Ariza), makes too much sense for both teams not to occur. But Pritchard is stubborn and won't make any trade unless he thinks he is totally getting over on the opposing GM. He doesn't believe in "fair" trades. That's why most GMs hate Pritchard and were glad to see Portland get screwed in free agency last summer.

 

You know, at first I thought you were high but Yi is not that bad and Lee of course is a monster (ala Brandon Roy) and with Scola's contract becoming a free agent this coming off season, I could see it happening.
