I believe you mean Aaron Williams, the PF/C on the Nets.

Eric Williams plays for the Celtics.

now you're talking. I think Mobley would fetch us more than Aaron Williiams, but he is the type of banger hustler (sounds dirty) that we need at the PF position.

    LOL!

Cuttino for Aaron Williams? Talk about underestimating the Cat.
This is ridiculous. Cuttino won't be traded unless he brings a starter in return.

No, I was not proposing that we do that trade, but Williams is the type of player we need.

Wow, this board was getting boring... Thanks, Popeye, for changing that, and you too, Rocket!!!

Pops, my prayers are with you ... seriously. If you still have my email, its the same, and posted here on my profile. I'd really love to know more specifics on your health. You are loved around here... :)

Rocket!!!, thanks for dropping in. I know you got burned last year for telling us specifics, and then the worm turning. There are many things discussed behind the scenes that don't turn out. Just because someone in the know reports something they've heard is going on to this BBS, doesn't mean they are a prophet. lol.

But, Pops or Rocket!!!, please tell us more details, even if its a list for us to pick from from, like, "we're looking into deals for these guys, Brand, Wallace, Curry, Walker, etc. Obviously, we'd all love Brand. This next week will show us if Sterling turns on Dunleavy, and stays cheap. I've thought of all the scenarios, from what I understand of Sterling, and it just doens't seem like he'll let Brand walk this year. But, I sure hope so.

Thanks to everyone for this gift of a thread!

I know that the Clippers have asked for Cuttino in the past, and Rudy turned them down...couldn't part with his favorite son.

Now that Rudy is gone, I can see returning to that possibility. Cat and Odom go way back, and the presence of the former might keep the latter in the fold.

Obviously we would have to add Eddie Griffin. Cat and Eddie combine for only about $8 million, though (Cat will pull down about $5.5 mil this year). I assume Brand will command the max. So we would need to throw in another contract. Maybe the Paper Clips would take Jason Collier (app. $1.5 mil) to round out the deal, because they can opt to let him go after a year.

Having Cat also helps ease the Clippers' pain of losing Maggette (Spurs? Nuggets? Heat?)

And Miami might facilitate a 3-way deal of some sort, but then again, isn't anything possible?

Didn't read more than the first post, but....

Twalking about the hospital bed; I just got back today from a week with nothing to do. God it was awful. I couldn't even reserve a damn computer. I have the worst pain on my left side, but there's nothing I can do.

I figured the new logo would be released while I was in there. Interesting, but could be better...

Uhhh, now I just have to get back on top of things (this website). It'll take me a good few hours to 'catch up'

Just ran across something relating to this part.

    According to Marc Stein....

Until late Thursday, Dallas was convinced Mourning was indeed on his way, and not just because owner Mark Cuban was in Miami as soon as the clock struck 12:01 a.m. on July 1, waiting to offer Zo the same four-year deal worth more than $20 million he'll be signing instead with New Jersey on Wednesday.

Interesting, because op's post was indeed on late Thursday.

The above article also mentions the Clips' possibilities of a sign and trade involving Kandi, specifically perhaps to Memphis with Person used as bait because he's a healthy, expiring contract. Glen Rice anyone?

I agree Smackpeddler. I hate teases. It seems like Pussyland could be any team in the league. Someone even said it was a state of mind.

So no matter what happens, if Cat does get traded which I think is a possibility, people will somehow find a way to say that this one prediction was right.

3 of these things I already knew, 1 of them I already suspected, and the one I wasn't sure about, he was way off.

Yes, "Pussyland" could be any team; but the "now who do we really get in return" seems to refer to something specific, i.e., maybe OP knows which team but can only speculate as to the player (which, if it were LAC, would make sense).

In any case, it's good to hear from him, and hopefully he will get well.

hate to hear ANY rocket fan having health probelms, good luck and God bless oily!

about Cat, i am really hoping that he stays. we just aren't good enough to be getting rid of one of our top 3 (top 2 last season) players. speculating who we get aside, how many players that score 20 ppg make 6 million in the L? the answer is probably 1. i cant see us getting a quality 4 for cat simply b/c of the lack of bigs. really interesting stuff nonetheless, hope we dont end up trading cat just for a change and not a sweetheart deal.

How is "Now who do we really get in return" specific? Why would it make sense if he was referring to the Clippers? Wouldn't it make sense for all the other teams? Nothing he said was specific, it was very general, which is why I Pussyland can be any team in the league. I think you're reaching a lil Roxtxia.

BTW Tim had already told us that the R will play a "prominent" role and that "there is some trim outside the trademark and the logo."

Sigh, I wish people would read all the posts in the thread.

Stein had an article today that Zo to Dallas was set until late Thursday-around the same time of this post. There's your "Markburg".

Everything that has been out there says Kidd and Zo were going to be a free agent tag team so to speak.

No "insider" is going to have 100% accuracy because things fall apart. Stoudamire to Houston was all but a done deal. All reports had Rudy T staying.

Take everything with a grain of salt as you wish, but do you really think oeilpere's credibility as an insider has comewithout any justification?

I'm not a post count nazi, but some of you new posters need to figure out why oielpere has credibility with the vets of this board.

Glad to have you back "O"! Cat going to LALA LAnd. I just hope we get Brand and also let's throw in Mooch and EG or perhaps Taylor.

I'll go with that, anytime of the day!

I'm not sure if this is a dig at me but what does being a Sr. poster have to do with credibility? The point I was trying to make in my previous post was, if someone has "credible" inside info, why don't they just post it instead of being cryptic. Let's say I was an insider and I had some info I wanted to pass along to the board without having the origin of the info come back to me. I would simply pass it on to a trusted person and have them post the info. But it seems to me some folks like the attention and really don't care about informing the interested fan. I guess I'm just old and don't like people beating around the bush, if you have information just get to the point and stop playing games.

Not a dig at you specifically. Obviously a hefty post count doesn't make you more knowledgeable, a better fan, better poster, etc. But, what it does mean is that you've paid attention to the board and recognize news and rumor sources as legit or not legit. Most of the "vets" here are appreciative. The guys with fewer posts want more and feel they got cheated (on a free board no less).

Before Rudy "quit," an insider posted as much and then immediately had to delete it because his source was unhappy about it. I think oil knows what his source wants out of him. And, there is no circumventing the sources. If the source tells oilpere "cat is going to Philly for Snow and a #1," and it somehow is posted on this board, you don't think oilpere's source would catch on?

Also, the insiders have been wrong before. Things change in this business, obviously. But, I appreciate that they're here, and they've definitely let us in on alot of things before the Chronicle has.

As far as "playing games," don't click on oilpere's or doc's posts and your problem will be solved. There's plenty of other speculative trade posts on this board.
