Last weeks game was a huge step for the UH football program, this game could be a giant leap.

    Saturday 5pm on ESPN2

    line is Hurricanes by 16

Remember the last time the cougs had a big game at Miami? We got spanked in 91 i believe. The canes arent as good as they usually are, but they have NFL caliber players at almost every position. This will be tough for the cougs to pull out a victory, but man would it be sweet.

    GO COUGARS!

I would love to see the Coogs win, but I don't think they will.

Depends on how effective Miami's defense is. Did you know that UH ranks third in the entire nation in total offense? By contrast, Miami is 44th (off the top of my head, may not be exact). If Miami wins this game, they're going to have to do it with defense. We're still the underdogs - no doubt by virtue of overall team talent levels, but this definitely has the makings of an upset special.

Agreed. This would be an unbelievable win for the Coogs, but the U is on an entire different level.

I hope that UH wins but I wouldn't get my hopes up. Miami is still Miami no matter how much of a down year they're having.

Third in the nation in offense is great but the offense hasn't yet faced a test.

If UH can beat Miami, look for a possible New Year's Day bowl invitation, as the rest of their schedule looks favorably upon them.

I want them to win. I really do. But honestly i look at it and the talent level even in an off year for Miami surpasses the Coogs. If we don't win this game i want it to be competitive and i want them to be right there to the end. I don't want some blow out game like the last time we played.

We do have some things going for us this time Kolb is definently more mature and so is everyone else on the team. I dont think they will go in there with a scared attitude like they did the last time they faced Miami.

I think we will have a good showing but to win is going to be very hard and amazing if it happens.

People said that before OSU. And we beat them. So they keep saying it.

They're saying it before Miami. And how much money would you like to bet that if we beat them they'll keep on saying it?

You just kind of validated my point...

All we heard going into that game.. "OSU's defense hasn't allowed a TD yet.." "OSU's defense was a bright spot last year.." etc etc..

And since we beat them, now they suck..

And i'm willing to bet that if we beat Miami all we'll hear about isn't how well UH is doing, rather, how bad Miami is..

Ah well... GO COOGS! GO KARL!!

We are going to really miss SirVincent Rogers.
But Coker is a dead man walking........
Our defense is like a sieve.
We just don't have the depth yet.
Take the over and Coogs plus the points.
    Final - Miami 41 Coogs 28

Where did you hear that? OSU allowed a TD vs. Missouri St. and Arkansas St.

But I think that's besides the point, Oklahoma State has always sucked IMO and losing to UH really didn't change my view the Cowboys. UH beat a Big 12 team and it was a big win. But like I said...Miami is on an entirely different level than OSU, period.

halfbreed was basically saying that the UH offense has yet to face a test, I would hardly call Oklahoma State a test, especially when compared to the U.

Our offense can score, but it will be put to the test against Miami...Miami will be hungry and looking for a statement game...

Special Teams will be the key...I'm not too concerned about their offense, but I'm hopeful for a win...

    Coogs: 24

    Miami: 17

The MSU and FAU TDs came in garbage time with OSU leading by 40+ points.. 3rd team defenses in there.

The TD against ASU was an INT returned for a TD..

So basically all we heard from the cowboy crowd was how their defense hadn't given up anything yet.. and they were mostly right.

Not saying Miami isn't better than OSU, especially defensively. But if UH wins, I don't expect to hear a lot of people giving us credit for a win, rather than passing it off as a bad Miami team that gave up on the season.
