i think we are ****ing golden lol sure we could get bounced early but this is a really complete team. milos, lj, em sharp is one hell of a guard trio. jwan is an all time great coog and jojo is one of the nations best rim protectors. bench is a lil thin but its fine as long as we dont get into massive foul trouble. we've played some really good teams this year and at no point have we looked overmatched. this is a really good team.
Yes they are really good. I wouldn’t say really complete though. Almost. I wish we had a big who could finish around the basket and pop out for a 12 footer occasionally (and still be a good defender). If the Coogs had that, they would be complete. Also, I worry about Arceneaux and his achilles issue. He is remarkably talented and we need him to be a bigger part of the offense.
I hope he will be ok with a few days off those conference tournaments are brutal with playing at least 3 days in a row.
For now according to Duarte he is going to play. Still don't know how bad the ankle roll was or how close to 100% he is but I think I remember CKS saying he could of played in the final conference tournament game. That being the case ideally it would be great to see Roberts get some minutes Thursday night to get the rust out. The closer he is to 100% the more it would make sense to give him a decent amount of minutes. We are going to need a healthy Roberts to make a deep run in the tournament.
I went back and looked at our guard play for the final two games of the BIG 12 tournament against two very good basketball teams BYU and Arizona. Cryer, Uzan and Sharp combined for 111 points including including shooting 45% from three point range. During these two games as primary ball handlers they only turned the ball over twice, both by Sharp BTW. If we can get this type of play going forward out of our guards we are going to be tough to beat and stand a decent chance of winning our first NCAA championship.
He said before the conference final that if it was a Tournament game he would have played...whether he meant a 1-16 tourney game or the 2nd round I don't know.
