For those of you have been watching the season, what's up with Mercy Miller, and how's he doing? I know he's just a freshman and probably waiting his turn a bit, but I noticed he doesn't get much time and hasn't hit a FT since around Christmas (?).
Totally agree. They are huge money makers and that is the only reason they exist. Otherwise, they are stupid: a chance for injuries, the best teams have already proven themselves, the conference championship has already been determined, call it a wrap. But no, several more meaningless games so the hottest team has a chance at glory. Looks like that is BYU.
He's simply not ready. I was really high on him coming to the season and kinda expected something like sasser's freshman year but its been more like jamal shead's first year. Everything seems too fast for him. On defense, he gets caught ball watching. On offense, he never found his shot. I think this was probably his best game. He didnt get lost on defense and had a couple of grown man rebounds. As for his future, kid committed years ago and never wavered, but who knows how much pressure he's getting from his pops. I hope he stays.
You're right: SEC #1 SEC#2 DUKE BIG12 Then UH is in the bracket with SEC #3, which would be Florida or Alabama or Tennessee. I suggest that teams win games and get the highest seeds they can. I'm pretty sure Sampson agrees with me.
You want to turn March Madness into the 16 team CFB Playoff? **** them little schools? This is awful. Everything you're saying right now is awful. ...and I get it, because it's coming straight from a UH fan
To your point regarding injuries, hope Roberts is okay. He's not our best player but he is the heart and soul of this years team and we need him if we are going to make a deep run. So you are predicting Houston as a 2 seed? Pretty sure you would be wrong. Regardless of how our remaining performance in the Bib 12 tournament goes I am fairly certain we have either a Midwest or West 1 seed locked down. The work has been put in. Those that vote know what UH brings. We play a lot of ugly games. We are 24-1 in our last 25 games. Even in our 4 losses, three of which were in the beginning of the season, we were leading by double digits and very easily could have won them all. CKS was visibly not happy with the team's performance against CU as evidenced by what he said or didn't say in the post game press conference. Silly fouls, lack of normal intensity on defense, Roberts rolling his ankle. We played good enough to win but that was about it. Whatever happens going forward Sampson will have them ready. There are about 8-10 teams capable of winning it all this year. I am grateful and humbled that the team representing the school where I have my degree is one of those teams. It is going to take a lot of hard work and a few breaks that go our way. But I think we can do it
Two BYU basketball graduates were out hunting when they came upon a couple of tracks. After close examination, the first declared them to be BYU Cougar tracks. The second disagreed, insisting they must be Houston Cougar tracks. They were still arguing when the train hit them.
No, I just think the conference tournaments exist for money reasons. The national tournament can include the champions of all conferences plus all ranked teams.
Only if the lose in the quarters or semis...maybe not even then. But if they do, it sure opens that door. My whole point was to push back against the idea that Kelvin Sampson, of all people, should/would start resting starters in the conference tourney
I don't understand the need to defend the "little schools" in defense of conference tournaments. Why not just shift their automatic bids to the regular season champion? They still get it in. I remember that one Penders team that got super hot shooting threes and won the conference tournament over Memphis. That was a cool moment. But I'd quickly trade it in so I don't have to see J'Wan Roberts, Marcus Sasser, Dejon Jarreau, etc. limp off the court a week before the NCAA tournament.
If you're on a cliff with a little school, and admiring the sunset, just do us all a favor, and push it off. Cause that's what you do.
We are a lock for a number one seed even if we lose to byu. We are on an 11 game winning streak. And before that one point loss to tech, our other loss was back in November. We are a lock.
