Yes, I'm aware how conference play works, that's the point. It's basketball, it's not that hard to schedule a game or 2 here and there. Take a week in the middle of conference play, every team in the Big12+ plays a team from the Big10+ or ACC or SEC or whatever.
i guess. don't really see how that really benefits much. maybe for a bubble team or something but they should have enough quad 1 opportunities in there schedule already. This really only makes sense for a school that has a limited number of quad 1 games scheduled. And if that's the case, that's on the coach who does the schedule
I like it the way it is. It gives a great Coach like Sampson a chance to use the first part of the year to schedule teams that will prepare us for the conference part of the schedule, then the conference tournament, and then the tournament. I don't think CKS is interested in fun. As a fan I am inclined to agree with him. I am really enjoying this great run of success we are having with him as our coach and do not want to change a thing. I love the fact that we have a great coach that can locate and develop talent that can go out there night after night and wreak havoc with all of the on paper better teams with their line ups filled with 5 star recruits and 7 footers. Couldn't be any funner just the way it is.
Sorry for the derail with my crazyass ideas....here's a great article about Shead: https://www.chron.com/sports/college/article/houston-jamal-shead-sportscenter-18677539.php

This is pretty dope. a UH Alumni team is forming for the TBT. Ive watched this summer tourney the last few years on and off. A number of schools have done this and had past players make a team. Nice to see UH joining in
ESPN Power Index have Houston Cougars with a 32.7% chance to win the national championship. By far the highest number of any other team. Purdue has a 12.5% chance and Arizona has a 10,7% chance. ESPN expects Coogs to dominate in the tournament and gives them a near 60% chance to make it to the final four and almost a 45% chance to make it to the title game. Still five games to play between now and then and a lot of work to do. But it is sure nice being a lifelong Houston Cougar Basketball fan seeing the respect the coach, the basketball program, and the current team is being given.
Does anyone remember Bob Huggins's former WV coach reference towards us " I feel sorry for them. They have no idea what they are getting into". Not gloating just extremely proud of where we are now as a program and the way CKS and the team have handled themselves and taken care of business.
Not sure if it's online yet or behind a paywall, but there's a nice article/interview with Sampson in the new Texas Monthly.
An excerpt, because I'm a nice guy: TM: Let's talk about NIL rules. How have they changed your job? KS: Far more than I could have anticipated. NIL and the transfer portal have taken a lot of our innocence away. The worst thing you could say about a coach when I was coming up was that he buys his players. "He cheats, he buys his players." Now that's the only way you can get them, that's how much things have changed. But you have to adjust, you can't sit around complaining about it. You put on your swim trunks, jump in the deep end, and start swimming like crazy. Because if we don't adjust we'll fall behind. We're in a conference with a bunch of sharks. When I got here we weren't even a minnow. But now we're one of the sharks, and we ain't backing down to none of these people.
You have to laugh your butt off at Hugg given how that whole thing turned out. His ass = fired His team = bad Coogs = kickin ass
yes road games are tough, doesn't mean its impossible and that UH hasn't won on the road in the B12. I'll take an LJ Cryer added incentive return and this team to back him to come out with a W
