Xavier plays up tempo. And a lot of shots will be put up. They lost Fremantle but have a number of guys who can score on their own. A lot of shooters to space the floor. UT is better defensively and have guys with firepower too. May be undersized there down low so we’ll see how that factors in
Miami is really bad defensively but potent offensively. UH is potent at both. If they play to their capabilities, UH should absolutely throttle Miami.
I think Rockets pass on Walker because they are drafting top 3 by the mocks I have seen Walker will probably go in the 6-10 range.
Speaking of the blocks record since it came up yesterday it didn't become an official stat until 1985 but prior to that UH did track them and Olajuwon had 3 games of 8 blocks in the tournament.
If we trap, and they get the ball out, they can make us pay as literally everyone can shoot it. If we don't trap, we have a better chance to stay in their grill. We won't make the same mistake we made against Auburn which was to change our defensive scheme in anticipation of what they do best. Good news is we have a week to plan. Think we trap, see what happens, and if it doesn't work then we abandon and play it straight. They will have a hard time choosing to run or protect the glass.
I thought Miami was a better matchup for us so I'm kinda happy about that but man Indiana vs. Sampson would've been epic.
I am glad we are not playing Indiana. Did not care to hear the back and forth from the talking heads about what Sampson supposedly did to get let go there. Maybe instead the focus will be on the players and the teams and provide more analysis on what to expect. If we play like we did in the 2nd half against Auburn I don't see any problems advancing to the elite eight. Line is back up to Houston by 7 according to ESPN.
Eh the media is gonna media. Storylines win the day. The thing about Indiana is that their fans are the biggest goobers in all of college basketball. Maybe even all of American sports period. Miami will bring far less fans and far less attention so I'm kinda bummed tbh. But the real prize is possibly getting to see a UT/UH elite eight. Inshallah.
not exactly. Bama matches up well with UH. and so does UT. a fully healthy UCLA team also matches up well
The Houston cougars are about to lay the foundation for the Houston Rockets once again Go Coogs! @Clutch
