Does Alabama have to lose 2 more games and UH win out the regular season plus conference tourney for UH to get the 1 seed? Bama has so many quality wins and the win over UH seems to be enough for many projections to have them there.

“I’ve had a team that’s been a 1-seed, I’ve had 2-seeds, 3-seeds, it’s all the same to me,” Sampson said. “You can lose to anybody you play. That’s why I keep saying the seed thing is either clickbait or stuff to talk about.”

“At the end of the day, for us in the arena, doing the bleeding and the sweating, and the fighting, we don’t care,” Sampson added. “It’s all about your matchup and your bracket, more so than your seed. I’d rather be a 5-seed in maybe this bracket than a 2-seed in that bracket. That’s why I just don’t get carried away with seeds.”

The top spot has come with a buyer beware sign: there have been eight losses by Associated Press No. 1 teams this season, tied for the most in the regular season since 1948-49, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

“That never creeps into our conversations,” Sampson said. “I’ve got enough stuff to watch.”

We have our eyes on the 1 seed. No Doubt about it. But we will need to win out from here. And that prevents us from ending up like Baylor today. Trip to Kansas City makes the road and matchup a lot harder.

Nah they definitely don’t as KS repeatedly says over and over. They couldn’t actually careless especially at this point. At no point is it even brought up during meetings

Bama is looking pretty, And if they win out they will get 2 games in Birmingham. Kansas is also looking pretty good to end up in Kansas City in the regional if they win out. Whoever ends up in those road matchups have a tough road. We expect to win out too, and if we do it will be tough for the Committee not to give us the 1 seed as the #1 ranked team in the polls and the net.

The NCAA tournament is always amazing…and yet I say every year, “wow, this year’s tournament is going to be insane!” As if they rarely were before :)

Thinking ahead to who I would pick as my champ for the bracket, I’m tempted to say Alabama…but I’ll be rooting for UH and Baylor, of course. Man, college basketball is just so freaking good

Just read on a different site that both Lomax and Dandridge are available to play for limited minutes. Still no update on Davis. In light of this I was surprised that we moved from a 13.5 pt favorite to a 14 pt favorite. That spread will probably go down if Davis can play. Don't think it really matters if we bring our A game. Having said that, their back is against the wall and I expect them to throw everything they have at us. I do not expect this to be an easy win.

ETA: One of the broadcasters for the CINN vs UCF game just said no Kendrick Davis today.

At the game. Kendric Davis is out on the floor warming up. He’s pushing to play.

Easy win if Davis doesn’t play. If he does and is himself gonna be a close one. Memphis is no walkover, especially late in the season.

Hope they get off to a fast start. Home games against good opponents have been iffy.

Didnt DeAndre Williams play on that 1982 Memphis team with Keith Lee against Akeem Olajawon and UH?
