On my way home from Philly. Those fans are a special breed of butthole. Jarace Walker and Ryan Elvin had SO much family there it was crazy.
The Coogs are arguably the #1 seed, but let's not pretend that road games played by those other teams aren't tougher. That's stats without context. Good win though. This has been a fun season.
I mean a bunch of those road losses were by teams they had no business losing too. So you can take that into context
That's great coaching, hopefully everyone learns off that. Missed the first half but glad to seek Walker get another solid performance. He is the key to this offense being unstoppable.
Great game! Temple has a good shooting team and length. It's good to have a winner in town besides the Astros.
All the Temple fans were so confused why the UH contingent lost their minds at that shot. I'm not kidding that JW and RE had, between them, over 200 friends/family at the game. Jarace's brother was taunting the Temple students so badly. Granted they were being completely obscene. We got crap everywhere we went, but between the scoreboard and the Astros it was pretty easy to shut people down, lol.
This game felt a lot like the UVA game. Slowish start. Other team ******** rainbows from 3. Second half comes. Sampson puts the fear of god into the boys. They come out and absolutely lock it down. Temple offense evaporates. No ball movement. Scared ISO play and chucking brickfest begins. 13 point swing. Goodnight. Drive home safely.
Mark Berman on Twitter: "Kelvin Sampson postgame with media after the @UHCougarMBK win at Temple: “That was a great environment wasn’t it. Kudos to Temple’s students. They were giving it to us there on the baseline. I give them an A. I don’t know if they’re making an A in classes, but they get an A today”" / Twitter
Thought UH deserved the top spot, but I am O.K. with the second ranking. Everybody is gunning for number one. That can wear on a team. It is a shame we don't play one more game with Alabama in the regular season. The team is still struggling with slow starts, but clearly progress has been made since the first part of the season.
The voters know that although Houston is good, their conference foes aren’t as highly ranked or as good as the Big 12 and SEC conferences, to name a few. But everyone knows that Houston’s defense is legit, and will stifle any team in the country. So, it’s fair to put them at number 2. Because March madness is a few weeks away, and besides seeding at the tournament the rankings won’t win you a National title.
