I saw UH play Kent State and was not impressed. Comparing this team to Phi Slamma Jamma as some did is not fair at all. The current team might "come around" but they are no where near the PSJ class. Blowing a huge lead is not a characteristic of an elite team. There is a lot of hard work to do, and the Freshmen have to live up to their billing. Without vast improvements this team won't see the "sweet sixteen" much less the Final Four.
Thought we lost the game on the penetration in the second half. The defense got exposed by their athleticism, skill, and length getting into the paint. That said, we won't face many like Alabama on the long road. Tough for us to lose to them again. The offense fell in love with the Shead show, and while that is understandable given he was the only one scoring, it caught up to us. More half court adjustments needed in the elephant package. Sasser was a no show.
Not down on the Coogs at all. I'd rather this stinker happen now vs. the tournament. Almost no benefit in front running all year just to flame out at the end. How they come out against NCAT will tell us a lot about this team.

UH should've knocked out Bama when they were up 14. I remember that cute heat check 3 that Sasser put up that bricked hard and led to a Bama 3. It was all downhill from there. This team has been to a Final 4 and an Elite 8. It's pretty much championship or bust anyway. Sasser was dealing with the eye thing and we just need to be healthy for the tournament.
