The Nova/UH game will be epic to anyone that really loves basketball, effort, fundamentals and coaching…. The two best actual coaches in college basketball are hooking horns.
Bias towards big name programs and injuries to Sasser and Mark. FWIW they better be ranked in the top 4 going into next year if Sasser comes back… they arguably should be the favorite with the team they will likely have.
We not only played better as a team, but it looked like we had more individual talent on the floor too. Outside of Shead's double doodle at the end, we had total control of the game from start to finish.
One thing I really liked was almost no fast break points for Arizona. We still hit the offensive boards, and nearly eliminated the break which is what they are known for.
Moore can jump out of the gym. After being on the bench half the game I'm not surprised he sent that one into the scorers table.
In the past 20 years all NCAA championship teams except 2 have been in the top 20 for both offense and defense (according to Kenpom). Of the remaining teams, only UH and UCLA qualify.
Thoughts... 1) Lots of bad reffing again. All over the place. Ticky tack crap. Especially bad against UH in the 1st half. 2) Jamal Shead looks like the best player in the country right now. He's single handedly trying to give Houston a natty. Unbelievable. 3) Arizona is exactly as described. Incredibly athletic and talented. Minimal scheme and zero discipline. 4) Villanova is one of the most balanced, well coached teams in the nation. They are a true juggernaut and will be the toughest team we play the rest of the year win or lose.
regardless of the couple to's when arizona was trapping Shead at the end, he was a damn stud tonight. Big play after big play in huge moments. I've been damn impressed with his growth from the start of the year til now. first year starter playing huge minutes. Sheesh and under KS at that who is extremely tough on his young guys
Negatory. I got a hotel room in New Orleans for the final four on a lark but I'd have to basically sell my soul to follow through on that.
