Thanks for the suggestions. Tried radio on uhcougars, com for first part of game. I found a clip while over there of the Sampson interview after the Alcorn State game. It lasted about 30 minutes. If I knew how to link it here I would. Lots of good information. Evidently Gresham, Sasser, and Mills were hit really hard with the virus. Hence why Gresham is not playing well, same with Sasser in today's game, and why Mills is still not back. Looks like we found a nice player in Reggie Chaney. Sampson talked about his effort in the Alcorn State game and looks like he is getting some decent play in this game as well. Can't wait until we get back to full strength.
With Hinton and White gone from last years team and are best young shooters on the sidelines due to covid and injuries, Grimes has been a pleasant surprise this year. Honestly, based on the way he played at times last year I was expecting more of the same from him this year. Grimes has really stepped it up this year and the timing of his improved play could not be better. Grimes has provided the type of veteran leadership we need to get through these crazy and unprecedented times we are going through. Glad to see our next game on the 26th on the road against UCF will be on ESPN2.
Grimes is looking like a legit draft prospect. Team is rolling so nicely that it's easy to forget that Mills is returning!
We're a little rusty. They are a good basketball team with a very good coach so 2nd half should be interesting.
I got worried after that start. I got up to go to the restroom and they were only down 1 when I came back. This team is fun to watch.
Much of that is because of coaching and all of the intangibles that come with it. We are so lucky to have Sampson and son leading our basketball program. Now if we could only find the equivalent to coach our football team, then UH football would be fun to watch again.
