The guy clearly needs some AAA seasoning to get his swings better. Marlins really shouldn't have just promoted him directly from AA when he wasn't exactly crushing the ball down there. He may not ever become an average hitter, but if he stays in the big leagues, no way he'll ever get a chance to develop his hitting.
When I was younger and worked for the Astros, he was always very approachable and very nice to his fans... Other than the "issue", Bagwell was probably the most popular player with the employees. He had bad things happen to him but didn't come across as a jerk at all.
I've not seen much of the Astors the past week. What has Marisnick been doing in center field? His WAR is higher after 11 games, mostly for defense, than Cosart has in 2 starts (he's been better in Miami than Houston) plus what Cosart is expected to have the rest of the season. If Marisnick is any where close to being as good defensively as his WAR suggests, I hope the Astros rethink Fowler as a center fielder when he gets back.

Marisnick's WAR (.8) is now equal to that of Kike (.8) in their respective time with the Astros. Marisnick may be one of the top tier defenders in center. His value would be much more maximized if Porter would just keep him in center and Fowler would have a defensive bump in the right direction if he was in left...
Money as in Fowler will play center due to his money? If so, that just makes no sense to me. Playing every day in left is just as decent an opportunity and the team is better for it. I just have a hard time believing its about money rather than perception.
Maybe he's implying that since Fowler is getting paid $7 million dollars this season, he's going to get the right of first refusal as to where he wants to play. He's also due for a sizable raise next year... and likely will not accept a demotion (which moving to LF or RF would be) that would potentially jeopardize that dollar figure.
That's my guess. That is, if he doesn't somehow crack the major league roster. Moran certainly isn't staying in Corpus Christi next season if he's putting up those numbers. The Astros need to clear room at 3B there for Rio Ruiz, who's having a very nice season in Lancaster this year.
I would agree looking to move Dominguez will be the plan, but i wouldn't do it until next season. Moran is unlikely to start next season in Houston, he'll probably spend at least a month in OKC anyway. Right now I don't think Dominguez's value could be lower, he's had an awful season, I just don't think we would get much of a return. Maybe he gets off to a decent start next year and inflates his value a little on top of giving Moran that time in OKC The Astros are also trying JD Davis at 3rd down in QC. Will he stick there probably not, but he's actually had a decent season defensively after a rough start. I'm sure they want to give him an extended look before resorting to LF/1B/DH hide-a-hitter.
You could be right. But lets guess Moran is part of the expanded roster in September. How he looks at the ML level will say much.

As far as his season offensively, sub-par indeed (OWar -0.5). Still showing some power though. I don't think his trade value is going to matter terribly when Moran is ready.
No that's actually higher than Fangraphs, which has him being a very bad 3rd Baseman. He needs to be great defensively to carry his bat, right now he is doing neither well statistically.
