We've got to remember the timespan on the 111 Rockets is running out this year or next year could be the last. The're no point in keeping McGardy and not give him the the best chance to succeed here. Guys like Head and Landry may improve in the very near future but at this point they're nowhere near contributing what Maggette does now.

Maggette is arguably the best slasher in the league. He gets to the line consistently and makes his free throws.

Cassell has killer instinct. Even at his age, he would help push the Rockets closer to the next level.

Miller is a great shooter as well as a good rebounder and passer. The only problem I see with Miller is that between him and T-Mac there would be very little defensive presence coming from our perimeter players.

Aside from the names above, I'd rather get Andre Miller to replace Alston and/or Artest to replace Battier.

I guess it depends on whether you look at the W or L column :p

I'm still trying to find the "None of the above" option.

Cassell's too old, Miller's too expensive and Maggette is too injured.

I agree... Maggette is a broken down old man. Landry is a baller in about prime condition (his next two years WILL be prime). Mike Miller would be nice, but not if we have to give up Scola or Landry, or Battier.

Depending on the matchup you could roll with a lineup like this:
    Alston
    Miller
    McGrady
    Battier
    Yao

I'm pretty sure we could outscore most any team. Plus Miller is on McGrady's nuts, meaning he idolizes him, he will be happy to come here I'm thinking.

Maggette gets to the free throw line as well as anyone in the league. That's what this team desperately needs...free points.

Miller's an amazing shooter who is not a complete shrimp on defense. This team needs one of those too.

Cassell's the kind of point guard we have needed since, well...Cassell got traded.

We need help. A lot more than a lot of people realize.

I'd prefer Cassell specifically groomed for the playoffs. He doesn't really need regular season experience and I certainly wouldn't want him to get injured in the regular season. Having him practice, and logging 10-15 minutes a game and staying fresh for the playoffs would be ideal. Sort of let him conserve his energy like Robert Horry does for the Spurs.

I'm not that big on trading Bonzi because its very possible the Rockets could match up with the Spurs in the 1st round of the playoffs and Bonzi is a Spurs killer.

I know a lot people like miller and he is a good player, maggette gives the rox something the don't have. The rox don't have any slashers/ finishers like corey.
Corey can get to the rim, finish and draw fouls. In the playoffs, u need a dynamic swing player like maggette. What's good about him is that shane can still be the defensive matchup as a starter . He can get 14 mins a night behind tracy and shane equaling 28 to 30 per. I think the rox have enough soft perimeter players already.

Cassell if you are looking for a quick fix.

Not crazy about Maggette. He's been stuck in Clipper hell for too long (see Mo Taylor)

Mike Miller is a great fit for the team, would provide instant offense to a team that is desperate for a CONSISTENT 3rd scorer.

I wish someone had good insider info around here..... I miss OP and Doc. :(

I have no clue....but I imagine we will probably make another move before the end of next week.

I'll say it won't be as big as these other two, but will make us a more well rounded team.

Most of teams in the west have made one big move, and I expect a few other teams to follow

    Lakers - Gasol
    Suns - Shaq
    Spurs - Stoudemire
    Jazz - Korver
Nuggets - pursuing Artest and possibly Cassell
NO - already have one of the best record in the West
    Warriors - Webber

Only teams that haven't got any deals in the works are the Mavs; and they have people injured right now and won 67 games last year. I imagine that could still beat some of teams who have improved a bit.

That lineup is horrible. Who is your 4?Battier. lol It is bad enuff that Yao isnt that mobile can cant rebound that well and you want to put a short guy instead of a athletic PF. We wouldn't make the playoffs with that line up.
ANDRE MILLER is the answer to all our problems, but I dont't see the 6ers doing that.

The rockets biggest weakness is at the point guard position, so its a no brainer for me in choosing Cassell. Even at Cassells age, he would give this team a swagger going into the playoffs and that's exactly what T-Mac and Yao need. He's a great closer.

If the Rockets trade Landry, I'll quit watching the Rockets. No way Morey's that stupid.

Sam should be our first choice, then Miller.

Wally Szczerbiak's on the trading block. Granted he's got one more year left at 13 mil, but he might be a more viable option seeing how teams around the league are salivating at the thought of getting Mike Miller. I'd, of course, prefer Mike Miller but Wally World still got some game left in him.
