Correa is a true 5-tool player and a joy to watch. Dude might already be my favorite Astro not named Bagwell. Only flaw he's shown is OBP, due to lack of BBs. Going into today's game, he was only .326 with 3 BBs. His 3/5 batting will improve that number. Still very early though.
Just imagine what Correa will be like in a few years when he fills out a bit and his strength increases. He will be a perennial 30 HR, 50 double, kind of guy….which is incredible.
See ARod's 1996 season (same age as Correa now, but had already been in the big leagues over the previous 2 years). Still can't believe he didn't win the MVP that year. Just goes to show how jaded people were by HR's. Anyways, if Correa is anywhere close to that sort of trajectory, in an era where there's a paucity of quality hitting, jeez....
He's very similar to Arod, but I don't want to use him as a trajectory because his spike in HR's were fueled by PEDs. Correa does have the look of a 30-40 HR type MVP caliber player though.
Yankee fans were calling Correa a once in a generation player today and wondering why Bryant has been getting more hype than him.
Damn, just looked up the MVP race…that's crazy. ARod's numbers are ridiculous. If they were going to go with the "power" guys, then Griffey should have won it over Juan. Griffey scored 36 more runs, had 2 more HR, 4 less RBI, 33 more walks, 14 more SB, and a higher OPS. But ARod hitting .358, scoring 141 runs, driving in 120+, an OPS of 1.045….at 20 years of age. Wow.
Both being deserving teammates, Griffey and ARod took away votes from each other. Juan had Ivan on his squad, but TEX's duo wasn't quite the caliber of SEA's. Good memories looking up those stats. Big LOL @Brady Anderson's 50 jacks
I didn't think Correa would have a shot at ROY being called up after super two. In WAR, he's third already in AL. McCullers doesn't look like he'll be able to hold him off.

Indeed... I'm sure the media looks back on that season wondering, "WTF were we thinking?!?", but in all fairness, Texas did have the "better" team that won the division that year. Anyways, if Correa "fills out" to a similar sort of season that A-rod showed once he got comfortable with MLB pitching, look out world.
People are going to B$@$h and whine when Correa is going to command $250 Million.. Yes, someone is going to offer at least a $250,000,000+ type of contract. Will Astros match? I'm not sure but I'm just going to enjoy watching him play while he is here. Go Correa!!!!!
He's so young... the Astros likely will lock him up for his first "big" deal... but since he'll only be around 30 something when that ends, he may get too expensive (with diminishing returns) for his second deal. Think Albert Pujols' recent contract situation (which hasn't affected the Cardinals in a negative way). But again, we're all getting waaaay ahead of ourselves here.
Nah not yet. The Brinks truck still has to make stops at Washington and LA to try and sign Bryce Harper and Mike Trout....cause you know...Yankees
