Brewer has played like a junior high third string player all year and you guys are blasting OP for asking why he gets so many minutes because of one good game? Yeah that's logical. His name is Corey Sewer for a reason and he will soon show you why. I hope he plays well the rest of the season but after this season it's my wish to never hear the name Corey Brewer again, especially when it comes to the Rockets. Get him the hell out of here and he can take his sorry sack good for nothing bricklaying head band of trash brothers with him.
you would think Brewer was a disgusting human being my this post.... Probably the most humbled dude we have here.
Except my post was all about his play. I could care less what type of human being he is. He's being paid millions of dollars to do a worse job than any bum off the street can do. I didn't say I wanted him to die or go to jail I said I didn't want to hear or see him again. He's a **** player I'd rather he be nowhere near the rockets. So please point your bleeding crybaby heart elsewhere.
In 2016 Brewer is shooting 44% FG 32% 3pters. Not super but not sucking either and actually above his usual shooting. Brewer is replaceable enough and overpaid, but he's been decent enough recently to justify playing him. Interesting stat via B-R, on 2 days rest, only 8 games total - Brewer is shooting 52.8 fg/48.3 on 3's. He is an always-on hustle player, but maybe even "The Greyhound" burns out a little quicker now and benefits from rest for his frenetic style of play .
people look at his overall numbers and don't look at how bad he started the season. in 8 games since the All Star break, he is shooting 45 percent, 34 percent from three in 8 games in fact his shooting percentage has improved every month this season November 32 percent December 37 percent January 42.6 percent February 42.9 percent March 51 percent
Those numbers are horrible both Below average in the league. When you are below average at everything you technically suck. One good game doesn't change that.
Yeeey, encouraging stat, super Corey will be back in the playoffs then Seriously though, we all know that Corey has under performed this year. He, like many others on this team has started the year off horribly, but he has been pretty decent as of late and was the spark we needed last game. At least he always gives it his all out there. That said, I still cringe when he drives into multiple defenders for a layup or whenever he hoists up a three, but then I did that last year too.
Last night's game boosted his 3pt% from 30% to 32% for 2016, and from 29% to 30% for the season. His career average is 29% which is exactly where he's been these two seasons with the Rockets. So in that sense, he is VERY consistent. The problem is 29% isn't exactly what you want for a 3pt-threat shooter.
