'Bout TIME Coc*tease---er, Codman---gave us something to mull over. The antlers reference. Bulls have horns, not antlers, but that's the only guess I can make, unless the reference is somewhat oblique.
What was the quote JBB had about Brewer? Maybe he'll convince Memphis that there's only a few plays that only he can make. Like dropping 51 on the Rockets.
The other animal that has antlers is a Moose, and Greg Monroe's nickname is Moose. They want to give us Monroe, but we don't really want to take on that contract for the price that's possible to pay right now. We would have to give up Brew and Ariza (or Brew and a combination of our young players), which would eat into our already flimsy $9m in space projected for next summer and is Monroe really worth anything? Meanwhile, we are trying to get something done like Brew + Ennis + Brown for the guy who eternally needs to bulk up, Henson, but they want to make a deal now and we can't trade Ennis till November and Brown till December. So being in a tight situation, the Rockets are looking to unload before adding, i.e. convincing a team with cap space to come in as the 3rd team. That would be one of the Thunder, Wolves, Suns, Jazz, Sixers, Nets or Nuggets. I guess this would be something like Henson and a 2nd rounder to Team X, Brewer and a player from Team X to Milwaukee, TPE to the Rockets. Tough situation.
He's averaging 15 minutes Getting rid of him won't make much of a difference But maybe he's the cancer
Maybe Morey is keeping Brewer until mid season and then trade him in a deal. I cant believe that Morey will keep Brewer for 2 years in a row of some of the worst play i have ever seen. It takes a special player to go like 0 for 29 in 3 point shots last year.
Are you saying there is more cancer than first appeared? Kevin McHale, John Blair Bickerstaff, Dwight Howard, Ty Lawson, Marcus Thornton What other cancers do they need to cut out?
why can't we package brewer/anderson/bev into a toxic distressed debt fund and then just lobby the government to buy it off and bail us out? i mean over the years now, morey has certainly become too big to fail
Can someone explain why he is still getting minutes? He played 15mins last night with 0 points, 0 rebounds, 2 turnovers and had a -7 +/- differential. Is it is a case of him being paid so much money that the coaches feel obligated to play him? Is it a case of the FO hoping he can reverse his nosedive into oblivion and forcing the coaches to play him so they can dish him at the first sign of a rebound? Or is it just a case of the team not hustling and needing a Richard Simmons out on the court? Please someone explain. Why is he getting minutes? This problem is totally keeps me up at night.
Brewer is finally going....to the starting unit. http://www.chron.com/sports/rockets...orey-Brewer-into-starting-lineup-10598314.php
