Only in hopes and dreams is Bridgewater better than Fitz right now. Fitz is pretty close to the average if viewed by an unbiased person based on his performance this year so far. The Texans could have taken a different 3rd string QB than the one they currently have, but so far it doesn't look like they made a mistake.
Bridgewater reminds me of Geno Smith. But the book is far from written on Teddy, XSF, and Nix. We'll know in two or three years whether we screwed the pooch or not. I happen to think XSF and Nix will both be pretty good.
lol, ok... What on earth has Nix done to give you a feeling that he will be "pretty good". Thus far he's been a massive bust. Injury + Fat & Out of Shape + Not being a pro = BUST
List of lowly teams Fitz could start for Bucs Jets Rams(maybe) He's an ok backup but if you're trying win the division and make the playoffs then you won't with that guy starting. He's near the bottom when you start talking about starting qbs.
Add to that list that he'd either instantly or at least eventually take over as starting QB if he was on the Vikings Bills Dolphins Jags Titans Redskins Possibly even in Oakland. He's a starter on maybe 11 or 12 teams in the league and that's not THAT bad.
Are you struggling with the math part of it....because the teams have been pointed out already....add them up.
Fitz starting over Bortles? Brah put the kool aid down please. Over Tannehill? No way over teddy b? Child please. Cousins is a backup but Fitz would be backing him up if he was in DC. Orton in Buffalo is debatable. Titans Yes he could start. Schaub is better than Fitz and is backing up Carr so why would Fitz start in Oakland? C'mon man!
They didn't want to have to start Bortles this year, but they didn't have a choice, if they had Fitz rather than Henne then Bortles wouldn't have seen the field this year. Also, I'm not sure if you've been paying attention, but the Dolphins are considering benching Tannehill and moving on. Teddy Bridgewater wouldn't start if Cassel was healthy and certainly not over Fitz because he's by no means ready for the NFL....we saw that yesterday. Cousins is one of the worst QB's in the NFL, they'd certainly have Fitz start over him. The Schaub of today isn't better than Fitz, age and injury caught up to him in a bad way.
OH I GET IT, your "Horrible Offensive Line" argument only comes for players that you choose. Nevermind Teddy got sacked 8 times & was under constant pressure. You got some serious agenda, boy.
He shouldn't have held on to the ball that long and he should have diagnosed the blitz better right? Isn't that what they said about Keenum? There's no way to defend Bridgewater's awful play yesterday.
Sure why not. Same goes for Fitzpatrick. But Teddy is a 21 year old rookie & Fitzpatrick is a 31 year old vet.
Not really.. Fitzpatrick has played the following ranked defenses: 16, 9, 26, 17, 21, 19. Whereas Teddy went against: 10, and 4. Open your eyes, slick.
I don't know where you get your numbers, but given the rest of your takes on the subject, it's not surprising they're all wrong. Bridgewater got his first playing time against New Orleans which has the #28 defense, then got his first start against Atlanta who has the #29 defense in the league, he then went against the statistically best defense in the league and looked completely hapless. He should look better next week, but Buffalo has a decent defense so he'll probably get schooled again. The hype is all he has going for him at this point.
Anywho, at least you admitted your hypocrisy and agenda in defending Fitzpatrick. I look forward to you never uttering the "bad oline" drivel again.
