Looking like another waste of a draft pick for me in fantasy. Still early, but damn, he's been disappointing the last 3 weeks. If all he can do is return and rush for yds, I definitely wasted a pick.
i think he didn't have enough room to write the tite... "cordarrelle patterson vs deandre hopkins at returning balls on special teams. "
Hopkins is a stud, and (just like Dre) he needs a better QB to maximize his talents. He is one pick that the Texans got absolutely right.
lol @ raw Mute the audio and take a close look at the play at the end of the video Spoiler <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/N1hV3Ldg61g" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
him making a slight angled turn in the open field while the defensive back slips on the frozen field?
Bad comparison in my opinion saying he has a mix of Julio in him. I can agree with the roddy white route running or Chris carter hands. But jones is a different style of receiver. He's big and he'll take the top off a defense. Two things Hopkins is not. Disagree that Hopkins will overtake Johnson in terms of impact on the game in the next 2-3 years. AJ run blocks with the best, he's still faster & a better route runner. Hopkins is a better jump ball player right now due to great timing, body control & hands. Hands is were Hopkins is on a different level than most receivers in the league. It's like his hands have stickem on them. I'm happy with Hopkins progression and he's a weapon out there when you need to be bailed out with a jump ball. I think him and andre could be a solid duo for another 3 years as long as andre doesn't want to leave.
If you look at the coverages, Hopkins and Damaris got their touchdowns because the safety would cheat towards Andre's side. AJ is the reason the other receivers are getting opportunities. The stat sheet might not look like it, but #80 still disrupts defenses more than any receiver on our roster by a large margin.
You're not helping your case, he runs a screen and runs past all the defenders, he can't run good routes and can't get open unless they design a reverse, run or screen play for him. At this point Hopkins is a better receiver, route runner and has better hands, I think Patterson could end up being the better player down the road, but right now? Hopkins, no questions.
Through 6 weeks: Patterson's on pace for 45 catches,544 yards, and no TDs Hopkins is on pace for 67 catches, 976 yards, and 8 TD's
That said, they have a really bad QB situation in Minnesota, maybe Patterson would be better with Fitz as his QB.
That video is the epitome of "raw". Not once in that video do you see any plays from an actual "NFL Receiver", you just see a tall RB with "84" on.
Every QB on the roster in Minnesota is terrible, they could really use an upgrade this year in the draft if they lose enough games.
You call Teddy terrible based upon 1 bad game against the Lions in his 2nd start ever, not very rational now is it?
More rational than those bashing Fitz for his average performance for the Texans thus far. The point is that some kept selling the same derp nonsense about how much the Texans messed up by not going with Bridgewater when at this point A. He wouldn't even be starting in Minnesota if not for injury B. He'd be a downgrade from Fitz. The QB desperation crowd is tiresome and it's fun to get a good laugh at them every now and again.
Except Fitz is a proven below average QB in the NFL, and his performance to this point reflects that. There is nothing wrong with bashing Fitz. Bridgewater might be better than Fitz is right now, and he is young and has years to improve unlike Fitzpatrick. The Texans also could have taken him in the draft but we liked XSF and some injury-prone DT instead.
