The real question is who in their right mind would give up 2 valuable World Series tickets for a nasty looking 43 year old broad? The hooker deserves to be in jail not for soliciting but for price gouging. Her market value is far below what she wanted in return. You could just claim you gave that to them as a gift and not a fee for service too. Anyway this is why I have a problem with making prostitution illegal. Women and men trade sexual favors for all sorts of things. I mean if a man tells a woman at a bar that he drives a Lexus, makes a million a year and will take her shopping at Saks if she dates him does that make her a prostitute and him a john? Consider that Chimpanzees and Bonobos will trade favors for sex this just seems like something that is hardwired into us.
I'm curious how the conversation went in order to charge her with prostitution. The ESPN article says she is married and was looking for tickets for her and her husband. She claims she was misunderstood. The ad is suggestive but I don't think it's enough by itself. I've watched enough COPS to know there has to be an agreement before they take down the perp.
