Though if you post the other video, one has to wonder why the man pulled over, got out with his dog, and started yelling at the police as he video taped. Seems other people were able to record without being handcuffed.
Why was he shouting about there being no black cops and civil rights violations and whatnot? Upon further research turns out the guy had a pending lawsuit against the police department. Seems like he was trying to antagonize. Really unfortunate his dog paid the price. Seems like they could've backed off from the dog and assessed the situation more, but still. That's an awfully big, potentially dangerous dog.
I can understand from the officer's POV to shoot the dog for his own protection, but he could've at least had the decency to make it a quick and painless death. To see the dog squirm in pain and shock after being shot was just too much for me to handle.
Pull stuff out of my ass? Give me a break, what a joke. http://www.nbclosangeles.com/news/l...-Dog-While-Arresting-Its-Owner-213941491.html Google magic friend, took a whole 3 seconds.

Yeah, I'm not buying that. Sad for the dog, but the owner is an idiot who didn't secure his dog that was behaving aggressively towards the officers, by instinct of protecting his owner. Shooting is justified from the officer's perspective. You don't let allow an 80-pound dog acting aggressively to be loose in an already dangerous situation.
Other article says 130 lb Rottweiler. Definitely looked bigger than 80 lbs. Rosby seems to be a trouble maker, having multiple encounters with police. He also contradicts himself numerous times. I wouldn't take his word for it.
The dog jumped and lunged at the officer twice. I do not blame them for shooting the dog under the circumstances. The real issue to me is why couldn't the guy videotape the officers in a public place (even though he was trying to cause problems). The dog tried to protect his owner, it is the owners fault.
