I am actually surprised that so little people have responded to this threat. A shooting in the US gets a lot more attention. I was also surprised that there was not a thread when a suspected armed man tried to get on dutch television and held a couple of people working at the network hostage. ok it turned out he was just mentally instable and had a toy gun but still it was strange. What is there to chime in on? Some idiotic crazy decided to shoot up a free speech event. It is horrific and I hope the families get some solace from the fact that the perpetrator is now dead.
First Paris, now Copenhagen... Those on this board who rant about Israel all the time have the perfect opportunity to clarify their stance on violence against Jews. The current trend seems to be this. Coptics, Yazidis, Jews, Christians, and Muslims. We are all victims of this hatred. This hatred is an infection that needs to be eradicated.

What's the liberal/conservative distinction? Gun laws? Religion? Economic oppression? new murder, same old sh** We are in for a minimum of 20 more years of world wide guerilla tactics between cultures. It's not that different than the last 3,000 years really.
Not much to debate about other than it being a terrible tragedy. The other topic about the white dude killing Muslims is less cut and dried than this one. Plus, this is the unfortunate cousin of the Paris murders and lives largely in its shadow. No catchy phrase like "We are Charlie" for this one... Ultimately, worse will come to worse if the European economy stalls further, which will have the double edged tip of unemployment and austerity against welfare benefits. If the economy gets better, the music keeps playing and the debate continues...
It doesn't, nor did Charlie. I'm thinking the response and reaction would be proportionate to how the economy is doing. The response to these attacks are similar to the positions in the threads about them...

One thing I've noticed about reading about this guy and the Charlie Hebdo attackers is that they were really low level hoods who got radicalized in prison. Prison is often considered as a training ground for criminals where young criminals make contacts and pick up techniques from older criminals and it seems like this might now even be the case with extremists.

You can't fix or reason with this way of thinking. These people should leave countries where freedom of speech trumps sharia and other religious laws.
Obama has talked a lot about taking stronger steps against extremism - the spread of Islamic vitriol through Western media is one of them. People should be held accountable for their views and not allowed to blab to the media about deaths being justified. Social media is a big one - Facebook, Twitter pages should be taken down and banned immediately. The agenda of ISIS and extremism is clear, and although it is heavily rooted in the Koran, we cannot rewrite the Koran. We can only isolate the delusional who believe in martrydom and killing all infidels.
Muslims in Denmark also celebrated 9/11 on the streets (while many of them were taking welfare money from the Danish state).
