i was talking with someone the other day and they mentioned this, this is obviously the biggest thing for US soccer outside of the world cup, the tournament will take place during the same time frame as euro 2016, this gives us the potential to have full days of really good soccer http://www.insideworldfootball.com/...with-conmebol-to-host-copa-america-centennial
Wonder if we will have full strength teams from South America. I don't see why not but you never know what could happen. Also, this edition of the Copa America will be competing with the European Championship which will be playing at the same time.
Hoping that there's some games played here. I get to go to the games here for free And I really hope Chile plays here, as I've never had the chance to see them live.
Would be so awesome if they are able to bring full strength teams...8 out of the final 16 in the world cup would be in this tournament (more than you can say for Euro 2016)
I hope they bring full strengths teams as well.. Copa America 2011 seemed to have squads with at a 100% but I do recall some in the past where they didn't seem to care much. Only thing I'm concerned with is that it supposed to start the June 3rd and most European leagues end at end of May. Moreover, Champs League final is supposed to be June 6th.
so there is Copa America for just south american teams next summer & then there's Copa America Centennial for both Conmebol on Concacaf in 2016?
Well at least we get to see some very good looking ladies representing their countries just like in the World Cup in Brazil.
Select: "copa america fans" <- right here. Search for it on Google. Click "Images" to see images. That will get you a little MORE excited for it.
Yep, this is likely going to be a U23 type tournament. Some teams might bring veterans, but I doubt it will have stars or the typical passion and competitiveness of major tournaments. You won't see fans crying in the stands. Clubs aren't even required to let their players participate this one. I suspect that few stars will care to come, and those few that will care might not be released by their teams.
