That's kind of why I was asking as I'd never seen cops do this before. For a cop writing a ticket, he sure had his eye fixated on cars in the line and no doubt he was checking out my stickers. I'm not mad...just curious if this is what cops are doing these days? I would hope that is not legal. I'll use the bird on crappy drivers. I'll use the bird on cops, too, but only the out of sight bird. Had a friend once yell out "f___ the police" at a party they were raiding. Suffice to say his night did not go well as they promptly nabbed him and busted him. Friend was being a stupid idiot obviously and it backfired on him.

This is a question you never ask, unless you want to find out.

Just read up on some case law and apparently in Texas, per the penal code, an officer can not arrest you for crude, or obnoxious words, like F you, or you're a f'in **** pig, etc.

However, if they find just one person who claims they were offended by the comments, you can be arrested and fined.

It's different by state, in Montana this kind of unprovoked speech is not protected by the first amendment.

Somebody needs to try that just driving down the road. If you see a cop using his speed gun or checking you out as you go buy, then give him the middle finger in plain sight where he can see you and see what happens. My opinion is no doubt the cop pulls you over. What happens next...? lol

Yeah, I see that one too every day but I'm all for it. They're pulling out the people who go all the way up front and try to cut in line, which I've seen cause multiple wrecks from holding up traffic in the fast lane.

Edit- I'm talking about the I-10 East going to 45 South.

I went to a chic fil a today and seen this motorcycle cop writing a ticket out to someone in a van in the parking lot, there was this dude parked two spots, the cop looked over at his windshield as if to check to see if any of his tags were expired, the dude drove off but it looked like he wanted to shoot him the bird or something but he obviously knew better, as i passed the cop with my chicken cheese and egg bagel i yelled at the copy "eff you, go to hell" he tried arrest me but no one was offended by my foul language so he had to let me go

I notice this mainly at U-Turns

The issue is mainly it is creating traffic.

I've witnessed an abnormally high amount of APD cops writing tickets in the parking lot of the Chick/ Fillet off Mopac and Parmer.

Know what cops SHOULD ticket relentlessly in our drought and fire prone state? Throwing burning litter out of your car window. I see it happening countless times on the road.

If they see you throw a lit cigarette out of your car window they'll certainly pull you over.

Just a heads up to any smokers that get caught doing this at night. When the cop pulls you over have another cigarette already lit. Tell them that the cherry got knocked out and not the whole cigarette. It saved me before.

Quit throwing that trash out of the damn window. If you have to smoke in your car, use a friggin' ashtray. Quit littering with your nasty habit. I ****ing hate pulling up to a light and seeing 100 cig butts by the curb. Disgusting.

Not likely. I've never heard of anyone getting pulled over for it. And I've seen cops doing it.

It would be a great re-purpose for red light cams.

Cars don't have ashtrays anymore so out the window they go.

Even when cars have ashtrays, many smokers don't use them cause it stinks up the car putting it out in the car. The reasoning is you have the window open and hold the lit cig near the window ashing out the window to minimize transferring the smell to your clothes. I always used an ashtray when I smoked briefly way back when. I just hate seeing cig butts on the road. Plus, you can start a fire. I hate the way people still throw trash out their windows...even if just little stuff like wrappers.

How do you know it is due to a quota and not from a legitimate violation?
