It's not a movie, but Will Arnett in Arrested Development is the coolest character on TV.

    From Diamonds are forever:
    Plenty: "I'm Plenty!"
Bond: "But of course you are."
    Plenty: "Plenty O'Toole"
Bonde: "Named after your father, perhaps?"

    From You Only Live Twice:
(Bond has been captured and is bound by ropes)
Helga Brandt: "I've got you now."
    Bond: "Well, enjoy yourself."

    From Goldfinger:
Pu$$y: "My name is Pu$$y Galore"
    Bond": "I must be dreaming."

If Cloud, Sephiroth and Vincent are anywhere near as cool in FF7:AC as they were in FF7, then they'll probably get my vote. Although that is probably a little premature considering the movie isn't finished, I haven't seen the movie yet, and I'm even sure if CGI characters based on videogame characters count. Leave it to me to bring video games into a thread about coolest movie characters.

Not counting those, I'd probably go with some of the ones here (both serious and not serious ones). I'm going through this whole Napoleon Dynamite phase like most people, so he's pretty cool in my eyes at the moment, bumping out The Chosen One from Kung Pow...that guy could do push ups without even touching the ground with any part of his body...that's cool.

I tend to connect with the flawed weirdo type character

Graham - James Spader, Sex Lies & Videotape
Ned Racine - William Hurt, Body Heat
Ben Sanderson - Nicolas Cage, Leaving Las Vegas
James Cole - Bruce Willis, 12 Monkeys
    Hannibal Lecter
Tony Manero - Saturday Night Fever
