I am not going to say which is the coolest action movie scene ever coz I didn't really watch that many movies. But I like the two fight scenes between Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Zi Yi in Crouching Tiger and Hidden Dragon.

    Best gunfight:

The final showdown between Col. Morimer and Indio at the end of "For a Few Dollars More." Chilling.

    Best sports related fight:

Rocky 4 -- Rocky Balboa vs Ivan Drago. "He's not a man; he's like a piece of iron."

    Best war battle:

When the black regiment meets the enemy's charge in the forest in "Glory."

    Best martial arts fight:

Frank Dux vs Chong Li in "Bloodsport." The music makes this fight.

You just beat me to it. I specifically like the second action scene where Michelle Yeoh's character keeps grabbing different weapons. It also doesn't hurt that both of the women are very hot.

The final showdown in Predator is also one of my favorites.

    Zhang Zi Yi is hot.

Michelle Yeoh... well... let's say she was hot 5 years ago.

    It's just IMHO ;)

The Matrix, the whole Matrix, and nothing but the Matrix.

This movie changed moviemaking. In the years since it's creation, there have been many imitators but still nobody comes close at all.

-The infamous slo-mo kick by Trinity in the opening sequence (so famous now it's a cliche) and running across the walls.
    -The chase across the rooftops
-"I know kung fu." "Show me."
    -Morpheus vs. Agent Smith
-The Lobby (good God) starting with "Sir, please remove any metal objects you may be carrying..." and ending with the solitary 'ding' of the elevator.
-Neo blows the Agents away with the huge machine gun in gorgeous slo-mo from the helicopter, Morpheus jumps to him.
-'Bullet Time' on top of the office building as the Agent ducks Neo's bullets, and the now famous Neo falling backwards 360 shot.
-"Dodge this." God I love that.
-Reality warps as the helicopter slams into the side of the building.
-Agent Smith vs. Neo in the subway, beginning with the incredible Bullet Time 360 of them flying through the air.
-Neo stops the bullets in midair and takes on Agent Smith witout looking.

Man, I just get giddy thinking about it!

There is a scene in Predator that really comes to mind. About half way through the movie, after Jesse Ventura gets killed, the alien is spotted and almost immediatley Arnold and his men procede to wipe out an entire section of jungle with non stop gunfire. It is hard to explain if you havent seen the movie, but those that have will probably remember what Im talking about. It is just a great scene to put in the DVD player occasionally and it has good use of the surrounds if you want to give your system a good run.

Terminator 2 has plenty as well........dont get me started on that movie.

(Dang Deckard, you're always beating me plugging Bladerunner. :( )

Although Deckard said it best, Jet Li's The One had some great moments.

Can't argue with anything listed. Especially The Matrix, and more recently AOTC and LOR. Even learned of a few movies I never saw that I need to check out.

    Here's a few more:
First 20 minutes of Saving Private Ryan - the closest thing to being there.
Final gun battle in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
Ride of the Valkyries scene in Apocalypse Now.
    Any Bruce Lee movie.
    Tet Offensive in Platoon.

The opening scene of the first Blade movie is pretty memorable.

Watching Blade 2, Terminator 2, and Gladiator is a fun time to spend on a good bloodbath.

I wouldn't call the action scenes in Black Hawk Down cool, but it was one intense movie. They captured the realism like Private Ryan really well.

The cool scenes I like is when something big is destroyed, like Paris in the movie Armegedon or LA in Terminator Two.

Watching the White House being demolished by aliens in Independence Day was cool at the time, but it probably wouldn't now...

Privates Hudson and Vasqez, Corporal Hicks, and Ellen Ripley vs. the onrushing hoards in the Operations room. Aliens. Hudson (Bill Paxton) was a great character in that movie.

Off the top of my head...

Drunken Master - The final battle where he throws him on top of the burning coals. Ouch...

The Count of Monte Cristo - Though the movie is new, I just love that final battle scene where the camera hovers just above the reeds, and "flys" around the battle the whole time. It gave it a sort of surreal look to it.

Army of Darkness - This was one of the funniest battle scenes ever! Seeing skeletons be chopped up, crushed, and blown up just brings tears to my eyes.

The Matrix - Lobby scene, nuff said.

    And the Best...

Independence Day - The Final battle scene. How many movies does the audience actually stand up and clap at the end of an action sequence?
